‼️Facility Update — Friday, August 28‼️

We’re happy to share that practices may resume on select Dover Little League fields beginning today, Friday, August 28 🙌🏽💙

🚨Temporary fencing has now been installed around the damaged areas on the upper end of the complex. The Senior, 50/70, and Majors fields, along with the upper concession stand, remain CLOSED until further notice.🚨

🚫For everyone’s safety, there is absolutely no trespassing beyond the temporary fencing. Please do not enter or walk onto any of the damaged fields without prior authorization. Significant hazards and unknown risks remain throughout these areas that could cause serious injury. Anyone found inside the restricted areas without authorization will be asked to leave immediately.🚫

At this time, we also ask that use of the upper-end parking lot be limited to ONLY those attending Tee Ball-related activities so we can minimize unnecessary traffic around the damaged portion of the complex.

Effective Friday, August 28:

Tee Ball, P*e Wee, Minors, and Softball teams may resume their originally scheduled practices on available fields.

Majors and Jr./Sr. Baseball teams should continue working directly with their coaches to coordinate alternate practice locations📲

⚾️📆Updated game schedules will be announced in the coming week, so please continue watching for GameChanger notifications and communications from your coaches🥎

Finally, our sincerest thanks go out to every coach, family, volunteer, and community member who has shown us patience, encouragement, generosity, and support over the past week. We know these disruptions have not been easy, and we are incredibly grateful for everyone's cooperation as we work to safely move forward 💙

We may have struck out this time, but the game is far from over 💙🙌🏽

Our hearts are still heavy as we try to process the devastation that hit our Little League park 💔 But in the middle of this storm, something incredibly beautiful has happened…

YOU showed up. ❤️

The outpouring of love, prayers, messages, offers to volunteer, and people simply asking, “What can we do?” has left us completely blown away. We are being reminded just how strong the heart of this community truly is.

There are many questions still to be answered, and we know this process will take time. We don’t know exactly what the road ahead will look like yet. But we do know we won’t walk it alone. We are working the next steps of this tragedy to ensure a SAFE & RESPONSIBLE place for our kids to play and we ask for patience. As an organization that has been serving the community of Dover since the 50’s, WE WILL CONTINUE TO DO THAT!!! The storm may have damaged our fields, but it could never touch the legacy built here—or the community standing behind it.

From the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU. Thank you for loving our league. Thank you for loving our kids. Thank you for standing beside us when we need our community the most.

We will keep you updated as we learn more. When it’s time to rebuild, restore, clean up, or simply lend a hand… we know exactly who were going to call ❤️⚾

🚨 EMERGENCY NOTICE 🚨

Dover Little League sustained significant storm damage this evening, August 20, 2026.

‼️ Effective immediately, ALL access to the upper-end fields and facilities is strictly prohibited until further notice. Due to significant safety concerns, there is to be absolutely no trespassing in this area. ‼️

This closure includes:
❌ Senior Field
❌ Majors Field
❌ 50/70 Field
❌ Both Tee Ball Fields
❌ Concession Stand and surrounding area

DLL Board members and volunteers were on scene this evening and are actively working with the City of Dover to assess the damage, identify safety concerns, and determine next steps.

At this time, activities on the lower end of the complex — including the Softball, P*e Wee, and Minors fields — are expected to resume Monday, provided no additional damage or safety concerns are discovered.

‼️ For everyone's safety, please DO NOT enter, walk through, or attempt to access the closed areas for any reason. We greatly appreciate everyone's cooperation as we work through the extent of the damage.

We will share additional information as soon as it becomes available. Please remain alert for updates from Dover Little League and your Fall Ball coaches regarding practices, games, and facility access.

Please keep the entire DLL community in your thoughts tonight as we begin to assess and recover from this tragic event.💙
