The Father's Refuge

I’ve been wanting to do this for a while now. Over the next few weeks I want to brag on some churches that have been family to us at Ark Discovery Institute, and I’ve got to start with Lane's Chapel Evangelical Church.

These folks have just been good to us. Every time we’ve needed something for our teachers or our kids, they’ve shown up with it. They’ve come to support when we have a fundraising event. And when we wanted to started teaching our little ones to cook, they went out and bought kid-safe culinary kits so nobody would cut their fingers. Y’all, the kids have had a ball with them.

Now they’re talking about coming out to read to the children, and I can’t think of anything better than that.

Lane's Chapel, we love y’all. Thank you for loving our kids and our teachers the way you do. You’ve been a blessing to this school from the start and we don’t take it for granted.

THANK YOU to our Nature Week volunteers!

Last week our Ark Discovery Institute students spent the week learning hands-on in God’s creation, and it was only possible because of the incredible people and partners who gave their time and talents. We are so grateful for each of you!

💧 Pam Hawkins and Craven Soil and Water for bringing the Enviroscape and showing our students how water and runoff move through our land.

🐄 Wyatt McCoy with McCoy Farms for bringing the cows out for the kids to meet up close.

🐴 Emily Sutton for bringing her horses and sharing them with our students.

🌱 Mark Eubanks with the Ag Extension Office for teaching all about soil sampling.

🐝 Rosiland Buck for teaching about bees and sharing her honey with everyone.

🎣 Alex Sakowski for teaching our students how to fish.

🪵 Culpeper Wood of Cove City for making our new garden beds possible.

Thank you for pouring into our kids and helping us raise up a generation that loves and cares for God’s creation. Our community is truly a blessing!

Our Community Yard Sale was a huge success! Thank you to everyone who came out to shop, grabbed a chicken salad plate, and spent the day with us at The Father's Refuge. We are so grateful for each of you!

We still have plenty of great items left, and so many of you asked us to do it again... so we are! 🎉

Our Community Yard Sale is TODAY at The Father's Refuge, and the gym is PACKED with great finds! Doors open at 10 AM, and since we're indoors, we'll be here rain or shine. ☔☀️
