More Than A Tattoo isn’t just a podcast, it’s a conversation that needs to happen.
This podcast dives into what happens after prison: reentry, recidivism, and the reality of homelessness once the gates close. The struggle doesn’t end at release, that’s where it begins.

We’ll also be talking about the tattoo program inside the prison and how it started, the resistance, the setbacks, and what it took to get to where we are today. The wins, the losses, and the blueprint we’re building for real second chances.

We’ll be bringing on people coming home, along with the professionals, organizations, and decision-makers who oversee and support reentry. Real stories. Real systems. Real solutions.

This program is just one of many we need to truly change our communities.

When I started working with DOC, the goal was simple: reentry that actually works.
I’ve lived it. I know how fast the system can push you right back into recidivism—or straight into homelessness if there’s no real support.

Tattooing saved my life.
Now I’ve been blessed to hand these men the same blueprint that changed mine.

Don’t sit around wishing what you could of been. Stay in your lane go harder than your fears,doubt, situation and finance’s . Set small goals and crush them. Then before you know it you’ll be past what you wish you could have been to levels you could never of imagined.

You are enough. You have what it takes.

To whom it may concern,

If you want it done. Then get it done.

Don’t let your fear of starting the process ,asking for help, or even researching how to get it done.

Over 20 years ago I was sitting in a prison wondering how I was ever going to be q tattoo artist. It took a man named Rich to get me to think outside the box. Stop looking at myself as a high school drop out and a felon. I was challenged to try something different when I got out ans i did.

I made up a plan and I stuck with it. I got out and got my CDL's and I drove concrete trucks everyday and went into a tattoo studio everyday asking for an apprenticeship. It took me a year of no's before i got my yes. If i can do it so can you.

You are enough. you have what it takes.
