...Cool through Saturday...

The below average temperatures continue through Saturday. Wet today, but drier weather in store Tuesday through most of Thursday. Then generally rainy Thursday night to Saturday. We may be able to salvage some decent weather for the holiday weekend Sunday/Monday with some drying/warming, but there is low confidence in how much improvement we get after Saturday.

Another warm day is on tap in the North, though likely a few degrees cooler than yesterday. Highs will once again be much cooler near the coast.

Clouds increase today from south to north. A few showers and isolated thunderstorms possible late this afternoon in northern Aroostook and in the North Woods.

Cloudier and more humid on Friday. Showers and thunderstorms likely from the Central Highlands northward in the afternoon. Onshore flow will limit shower development for the Bangor region and Downeast.

Much cooler with periods of rain this weekend into early next week.

A sunny day is on tap for today with warm temperatures inland. The warmest temperatures for today will be from the Katahdin region northward. Highs will reach the lower to possibly mid 80s there today.
Relative humidity values will drop to 25-35 percent across northern areas this afternoon. Please pay attention to the Fire Danger Ratings from the Maine Forest Service at mainefireweather.org.

Areas further south will be a bit cooler due to onshore south to southwest winds. Much cooler high temperatures are forecast at the immediate coast and on the outer islands. These areas will see higher relative humidity values this afternoon as well (40-60 percent).

Temperatures will still be warm Thursday, but not as warm as today. There will be some more clouds, and possibly a late day rain shower.
