When you think about taking a cruise to Bermuda you probably don’t think about dressing like the Michelin man and painting children’s rooms at the hospital in Hamilton, but that’s what we did.

We continue our Doctors’ Day recognition by highlighting David McDermott, MD, MPH, a family physician and the senior physician executive at Northern Light CA Dean and Mayo Hospitals.

Dr. McDermott has been engaged with the Kiwanis Club of Dover-Foxcroft since the first week he moved to town in the summer of 1993. He served as president two years after joining the club and has once again taken on that role over the past year. The Kiwanis Club has been a part of the fabric of the life of Dover-Foxcroft since 1938, working for over 85 years to enhance the quality of life for children in the community. Dr. McDermott is passionate about Kiwanis because volunteering helps him feel like he is giving back to the community that has been so welcoming to him and his family.

Dr. McDermott is one of many physicians at our hospitals working to improve our communities.
