The Douglas County community, businesses and churches coming together providing Christmas gifts to kids in need in our own County. Coming together as one!

Have you ever seen, or heard of a community coming together as one force to achieve one goal:

To provide Christmas presents to all its needy children in the county! "It is clearly the heart of God that we work together" John 17:23

There are 15,194 children within the school system on free or reduced meals and 11,501 children in poverty according to the Census. There are 400 homeless children i

n the Douglas County School system and 161 children in foster care. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of thousands of children, showing the love of the Lord
through gifts at Christmas! Some of our partnerships in Douglas County include:

The Douglas County School System, the Douglas County Sheriff's Department, Faith in Action, area churches and businesses. We need you!! Here is how you can be in the Elf Squad Volunteer or be a n Operation Christmas Douglas County Partner:

* Encourage your church and/or organization to join forces with us.

* Recruit a small group of volunteers at your church or large business to host the gift hand out.

* Donate funds

* Sponsor one or more children and provide them Christmas.

* Donate new toys or gift cards.

* Have a Christmas toy drive. We need all of the community to be involved!

Our 11th Operation Christmas took place this morning at churches across Douglas County (Georgia). Thank you to all the volunteers who made this event such a success, again. A warm and Merry Christmas to you all!

This is a Golden TIcket From 2020--but it makes the point! Churches have your name on a list if you registered and they are picking up your gifts starting today. Your golden ticket was emailed to you today. If you don't have it, check your junk and spam folders. If we get a bounceback on your ticket because you gave us a bad email address we will try our best to decipher what you meant to tell us.

Douglas County Friends...Operation Christmas is December 6. This is for our participating churches and those we serve. We are at just under 6,000 kids. We will stop registration WITHOUT NOTICE when we hit 6500. Golden Tickets which will tell our families WHERE to get their gifts will be emailed Monday, December 1. Lists will be sent to churches to notify them who is coming to their church on Saturday, November 29. Churches who have not done so need to schedule gift pickups with Dominique, most have done so for the week preceding the event. Finally, every year we get families frantically contacting us saying they did not get their ticket. Well, in 100% of those situations, the problem is on your end. You either misspelled your email address, or there is a problem on your end. We automate and triple check our system and YOU WILL get a ticket sent to the email you gave us. Hey Douglas County! We have just under 5,000 kids signed up for Operation Christmas which is low for us based on the last 10 years. Perhaps everyone in our community is blessed not to need help, or just procrastinating. Please sign up NOW if you want us to serve you. To help our member churches prepare to distribute on December 6 we will be closing registration next week to give them time to get their assigned families data from us and pick up gifts. We have room for over 1,000 more kids! There may not be another warning. www.theelfsquad.org to sign up!

Douglas County you will start seeing these signs all over the place as a way to get families to sign up. And yes, we messed up proofing the sign so we had to make a Sharpie edit!! Please sign up time is short. Even though the event is not until December 6, participating churches have to get lists of kids, we have to send out the golden tickets, and the churches have to pick up gifts. We may close out registration around Thanksgiving so time is very very short. Thank you!!

Douglas County, time is running out. We have 2800 kids signed up for Operation Christmas and capacity to serve about 4200 more. We have to close registration by the end of November so we can share data with churches and have them pick up their gifts since the event is December 6. If we don't have enough signups in time, we will have to serve children in other communities so the money, time, and effort we have put into this is not wasted. Please sign up if you need the blessing and spread the word!

Douglas County, we have 7,000 gifts and toys to give away, and of course Superman. This is less than our normal 8000-10,000 for many reasons, mostly time and finance. So please sign up soon because once we hit that number, we will close registration. The event will occur on December 6, 2025 at pretty much the same churches you are used to, with some exceptions.
