Douglas County Partners In Education

Douglas County Partners In Education Connecting community resources with schools in Douglas County to ensure the academic success. Partners in Education of Douglas County, Inc.

(PIE) began in 1996 as a partnership between the Douglas County School System and the Douglas County Chamber of Commerce. The PIE program is designed to provide a hands-on opportunity for local businesses and organizations to share their expertise, time, resources, and ideas to enrich the academic experience for students in the community. All PIE relationships are individually designed to have a p

ositive impact on student achievement and to promote college and career readiness. Any business or organization in the Douglas County area is invited to participate in the PIE program. There are no dues or fees to become an active partner in education. The only thing needed is an interest in student achievement and the willingness to become involved in the program. Opportunities to participate in PIE are virtually unlimited.

💙 What does it mean to be a PIE Partner?

It means showing up for students, supporting schools, investing in teachers, and helping strengthen our community.

PIE Partners make an impact in so many different ways — through volunteering, donations, mentorship, event support, student programs, teacher appreciation efforts, and more.

No two partnerships look exactly the same, but every partnership helps create meaningful opportunities for Douglas County students and schools.

Together, we are building stronger connections between schools, businesses, and the community. 👏

✏️ PIE Visits PENCIL in Nashville

Recently, members of the PIE Board traveled to Nashville, TN to meet with PENCIL, a nationally recognized organization known as the gold standard for connecting businesses and communities with schools.

This was our third visit to PENCIL’s headquarters, where we spent time learning new ways to strengthen partnerships, grow our nonprofit, and better serve Douglas County schools and students. 💙

We are grateful for opportunities to learn from organizations making a meaningful impact in education and community engagement.

💙 Partner Spotlight: A true example of showing up for students and schools.

Holly Springs Elementary School recently shared a powerful “PIE Moment” recognizing Kenneth Reddick II and the Brothers Brunch Foundation for the incredible impact they’ve made within their school community.

From organizing dads to greet students each morning, to supporting school safety efforts, to leading initiatives like Dads Read Aloud Day and revitalizing the Outdoor Reading Garden, Mr. Reddick continues to create meaningful ways for families to stay engaged and involved.

He’s also been a guest speaker at Career Day, sharing his professional journey and encouraging students to prioritize both their future and their mental health.

This is what partnership looks like. 👏

We’re so grateful for leaders like Mr. Reddick who are helping strengthen our schools and build up the next generation.
