From October 5–9, the ladies of Junior League of Douglas County participated in our Little Black Dress Initiative (LBDI) - a movement of women committed to leading, serving, and creating meaningful change right here in Douglas County.

The little black dress represents the impact that can happen when we bring awareness to the challenges facing women and families in our community and use our collective voice to create change.

Every donation supports the Junior League of Douglas County’s work to empower women, support families, invest in students, and create successful tomorrows throughout Douglas County.

There’s something powerful about opening a book and opening a child’s imagination. 🧠🌟 Research shows that children who are read to regularly develop stronger language, literacy, and cognitive skills, helping build the foundation for future academic success. 📚🎓

We’re proud to invest in our youngest learners, encourage a love of reading, and remind every child that their story matters. ❤️

🖤✨ What a beautiful evening of sisterhood, purpose, and leadership! ✨🖤

The ladies of the Junior League of Douglas County showed up in their Little Black Dresses for our October General Membership Meeting as we officially kicked off our Little Black Dress Initiative (LBDI) campaign! 🖤👗

We were also blessed to hear from our JLDC sister, Kendra Clemons, who reminded us of something so powerful: know your strengths, lean into your gifts, and don’t be afraid to lean on one another. 💫

And that is ASCEND: Lead Together, Rise Together in real time. 🙌🏾

We each have a role to play. We each bring something valuable to the table. And when we recognize our strengths, embrace our gifts, and work together, we can move the mission forward and create meaningful impact in our community. 🤎

Thank you, Kendra, for reminding us that leadership is not about doing it all alone - it’s about knowing when to lead, when to support, and when to rise together. 🖤
