Happy August from Allies Way! 🌱

Our community garden is growing, and we are so excited to share our first harvest!

So far, we have harvested basil, rosemary, tomatoes, bell peppers, green onions, and banana peppers, and now it is time to prepare for our next round of planting: leafy greens.

This garden is more than plants. It is about nourishment, community, learning, and creating another way to support families with fresh, healthy food.

We are still looking for garden volunteers to help us plant, maintain, and grow this work with love.

Even when Allies Way is not leading the giveaway, we are still giving back to the community. ❤️

Today we had the opportunity to support others doing meaningful work for our students.

Great job to Blessings Working Together, Inc and the Douglas County Junior League for hosting a wonderful Back to School Drive for Douglas County students. Events like this remind us what happens when organizations, donors, and community partners come together with one shared goal: helping families and children start the school year prepared and supported.

Allies Way is grateful to be part of community work that makes a real difference.

Yesterday, Allies Way’s June Monthly Meal Mission took us to Clayton County, where we spent time with residents at a local extended-stay motel community.

We shared a BBQ-style meal of beans, hamburgers, hot dogs, corn, and ice cream—but the most meaningful part of the day was the conversation. Listening to residents reminded us that housing instability is rarely just one challenge. Families are often navigating multiple barriers at once, and real support starts with showing up, listening, and responding with compassion.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this outreach possible. Every meal served is a reminder that community care matters. 💚💛

Allies Way is proud to share that we concluded our 2026 Sunshine Summer Lunch Program, providing approximately 1,000 meals to children in need during summer break.

Thank you to Whole Foods Market for selecting Allies Way to receive a Store Giving Grant. Their generosity helped us continue our work of addressing food insecurity and supporting children and families during the summer months.

We are also grateful to the Dunkin’ Joy in Childhood Foundation for supporting Allies Way and helping bring joy and nourishment to kids when they need it most.

A special thank you to Marietta City Schools and the Douglas County School Board for helping us reach children and families this summer.

Together, we are helping ensure children have access to meals, dignity, and care when school is out.
