RITE is proud to announce that our Founder and Executive Director, Life, has been selected as a Camelback Ventures Fellow — Cohort 17.

743 applications. 20 Fellows selected nationally.

Camelback Ventures invests in early-stage education entrepreneurs building ventures that serve communities historically excluded from opportunity. Their fellowship provides 50k in capital, coaching, and connections to founders who are building from proximity — not assumption.

This fellowship will accelerate the next phase of , RITE's AI literacy curriculum for K-4 students. Kayla built KidoTech because she watched a generation of children encounter AI before they had the language to understand it — and she refused to let that gap become permanent.

We are grateful to the team, our board, our partners, and the communities who have trusted us with this work.

Week 2 of C3 Culture Code Camp just wrapped and our scholars did not just learn about content creation — they became content creators.

This week with our partners at Reimagine ATL, campers filmed, directed, scripted, and edited their own content from scratch. One original commercial. Three short stories brought to life on camera. Every scholar rotated through every role — on camera, off camera, directing, scripting, and editing their own footage. The commercial they made this week premieres at our Grand Finale on July 2.

But the moment that stopped us happened in the reading room.

Our reading instructor Mrs. Nathan from Cool Kids Read gave scholars a short story — then asked them to use AI to generate a book cover for it. Before they could touch the AI they had to use descriptive language to tell it exactly what the cover should look like based on what they read. Reading comprehension. Communication. Technology. All one lesson.

We also had a real conversation this week. The creator economy exists right now but it is still new. By the time these kids are adults it will have rules and regulations just like every other industry — and they will be able to say they started content creation in elementary school. At camp.

That is the whole point. Whatever they want to do with their lives — they can do it better when they know how to create, communicate, and use technology with intention.

Week 3 starts Monday. We are not slowing down.

This is what it looks like when second through fifth graders stop being consumers and start being builders.

We are in the middle of our KidoTech pilot with Angels in Progress Academy — and what you are watching is real. These students moved past the lessons. They are now building businesses using AI.

Their first assignment: design your logo using Google Gemini app .

But before we touched a single tool, we had a full conversation. What makes a prompt strong? What makes one weak? And then — the moment that stopped the room — students started noticing that what came back was not always what they imagined. The images reflected gaps. Assumptions. Bias baked into a system they were just learning to use.

So we did not skip past it. We sat in it. We talked about strong and healthy communication — how to say clearly what you mean, how to advocate for your vision, how to iterate without giving up on what you see in your head.

What you see in this video is that full arc. First iteration to final iteration. And then you hear directly from the students — in their own words — what that process felt like.

Three businesses will be selected at the Young Founders Expo. But every single student will have a chance to showcase what they built. Because the product is not just the logo. The product is the thinking.

19 people walked in. Every single one walked out a builder. 🔥

From retirees to startup founders to old school web designers — Tampa Bay showed UP for "Build Your 1st AI Tool, The RITE Way" and I am SO full right now.

Someone came in late. Still left with value.
Someone said Emmanuel Walters Emmanuel said something that's still resonating in their heart and soul.

That's not a workshop. That's community.

And the biggest takeaway from the room?

"Build, borrow, and update your AI workflow."

There's no one right way to vibe code. AI tools change every minute (Claude by Anthropic , I love you but the anxiety is real 😂). Do what works. Update when needed. Keep building.
