There is something extra special about being recognized by the people who work alongside you every day. ๐Ÿ’™

We are excited to celebrate our DSP Shining Star nominees, each nominated by a fellow coworker who has seen firsthand the compassion, patience, teamwork, and dedication they bring to the individuals we serve.

These nominations are a reminder that the little things donโ€™t go unnoticedโ€”the extra helping hand, the patience on a difficult day, the creative activity, the encouraging word, and the willingness to step up when someone needs you.

This week, we are celebrating the heart of The Chanan Foundationโ€”our incredible Direct Support Professionals. ๐Ÿ’™

The work you do matters more than words can say. You show up every day to encourage, support, advocate, teach, celebrate, and care for the individuals we serve. You are there for the big accomplishments, the hard days, and all of the everyday moments in between.

So much of what makes Chanan special happens because of YOU. Your patience, compassion, consistency, and willingness to serve make a difference in the lives of our individuals and their families every single day.

During DSP Recognition Week, we hope you know just how valued and appreciated you are. We truly could not do what we do without you.

๐ŸŒŸ MEET THE STAFF: DIANNE! ๐ŸŒŸ

If youโ€™ve been around Chanan for a while, chances are you know Dianne!

Dianne is our CLS/CAI Director and has been working (and having plenty of fun!) at The Chanan Foundation for 16 years! She started as a Day Center Instructor and has worked in just about every position at Chanan along the way โ€” except medical and DDP!

Her favorite part of the job? Watching the individuals we serve laugh, have fun, and experience new things. She loves introducing people to new activities and experiencesโ€ฆ as long as theyโ€™re willing to give them a try! ๐Ÿ˜‰

But thereโ€™s a lot more to know about Dianne!

โœจ She was born in Kingston, Jamaica ๐Ÿ‡ฏ๐Ÿ‡ฒ and raised in Brooklyn, New York ๐Ÿ—ฝ
โœจ Sheโ€™s the youngest daughter in a family of nine!
โœจ She actually goes by her middle name, which can make things a little confusing sometimes!
โœจ She loves spending time with her grandkids. โค๏ธ
โœจ She enjoys hopping in the car and exploring places sheโ€™s never been before. ๐Ÿš—
โœจ Sheโ€™s a self-proclaimed foodie who would much rather discover a great local restaurant than eat at a chain. ๐Ÿฝ๏ธ
โœจ She loves baking desserts โ€” and, thankfully for us, sharing them! ๐Ÿง
โœจ After living in Florida for eight years, she recently discovered she LOVES cruising. ๐Ÿšข
โœจ She loves listening to music and singing alongโ€ฆ although she admits her coworkers sitting nearby may not love the singing quite as much. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐ŸŽถ

For 16 years, Dianne has brought experience, fun, curiosity, and a genuine love for the people we serve to Chanan.

Weโ€™re so thankful to have her as part of the Chanan family! ๐Ÿ’™

Summer days are better with good food, great friends, and a little splash-pad fun! ๐ŸŒด๐Ÿ‰ Our Hiram crew celebrated Luau Day with tropical treats, colorful leis, lots of laughs, and plenty of time outside.

One of our favorite things about our Hiram location is our very own splash pad, giving the individuals we serve a fun way to cool off, get moving, and enjoy those hot Georgia summer days! ๐Ÿ’ฆโ˜€๏ธ
