Set against the beautiful backdrop of Savannah's Ships of the Sea Maritime Museum, guests will enjoy a curated taste of Georgia's coastal cuisine while honoring the first responders, trauma professionals, and healthcare heroes who serve our communities every day. All proceeds benefit continuing education and training for trauma care professionals in Region 9.

What an incredible evening.

The 2026 One Georgia Gala brought together healthcare leaders, first responders, community partners, supporters, and advocates from across our state, all united by one shared vision:

𝐎𝐧𝐞 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞. 𝐎𝐧𝐞 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐫𝐝.

Together, we celebrated the progress being made to strengthen trauma care across Georgia while investing in the work that still lies ahead.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended, sponsored, donated, volunteered, bid, raised a paddle, shared a conversation, and supported this mission. We’re honored to welcome Cheryl Preheim as this year’s emcee for the One Georgia Gala.

As an anchor at 11Alive News and a trusted voice in our community, Cheryl has spent more than two decades sharing stories that matter. Her work has earned national recognition, including multiple Edward R. Murrow Awards and more than 20 Emmy Awards, along with being named the Southeast’s Best Anchor for six consecutive years.

But beyond her professional accomplishments, Cheryl brings something even more meaningful to this night.

She understands, firsthand, how critical access to high-quality care can be.

When her son faced unexpected open-heart surgery at just seven years old, and her youngest child was born with a serious kidney condition, Cheryl and her family experienced the realities of the healthcare system in deeply personal ways.

Out of that experience came something powerful.

“Brave Conquers Fear.”

A message created by her son that continues to guide how Cheryl shares stories of resilience, strength, and hope through her “Brave Conquers Fear” series.
