Last week, Douglas County proudly celebrated two major milestones as graduates of Citizens Academy and the first Emerging Leaders cohort completed their programs!

Twenty five residents finished Citizens Academy, one of the largest classes in the program’s history. Over 10 weeks, participants learned how county government and the court system work and gained a closer look at the services and programs that support our community.

The Emerging Leaders cohort also completed its nine month leadership program through the county’s EDGE initiative. These employees strengthened their skills through training and development designed to support their career growth.

During the joint ceremony, the Board of Commissioners, County Administration, and program participants shared heartfelt remarks recognizing the hard work and dedication of both groups.
