You never know which moment will change a child’s life forever. 💜

Today was one of those moments.

Our young chefs proudly created their own versions of Sweet Potato Cobbler, learning that no two recipes—or dreams—have to look the same.

Then came the surprise of the day…

We were honored to welcome , an incredible celebrity baker and entrepreneur, who took time out of her busy schedule to pour into our campers. She shared her journey, encouraged our young chefs to keep believing in themselves, answered every question with patience, and reminded them that success is built one step, one recipe, and one dream at a time.

She even surprised everyone with some of her delicious sweet treats! 🍠💜

Moments like these are why International Young Chefs exists. We don’t just teach kids how to cook—we connect them with people who inspire them to dream bigger than they ever imagined.

What an incredible way to kick off the 2026 International Young Chefs Summer Cooking Camp!

Today was filled with new faces, new friendships, and amazing energy from the moment our young chefs walked through the door. We were excited to welcome several campers visiting from out of town, making this year’s camp an even more special mix of personalities, cultures, and experiences.

Watching this brand-new group come together on Day 1 reminded us why we do what we do. They cooked, they laughed, they learned, and they set the tone for what promises to be an unforgettable week.

Day 1 was a success… and we’re just getting started! 🙌🏽

We can’t wait to welcome both our returning chefs and our newest young culinarians for a week of cooking, creativity, cultural exploration, and unforgettable memories.

🍭✨ Sugar, smiles, and Savannah! ✨🍬
One of the sweetest stops on the International Young Chefs 2026 Culinary Experience was exploring the famous sweet shops along River Street in Savannah, Georgia! From handcrafted pralines and saltwater taffy to gourmet chocolates and old-fashioned candy, our Young Chefs got a true taste of Southern sweetness.
Of course, every culinary adventure includes a little research… and this was definitely the sweetest assignment of the trip! 😄

🖤✨ More Than a Museum Visit—A Journey Through History.

One of the most meaningful stops on the International Young Chefs Summer 2026 Southeastern Three-City Culinary Experience was our visit to the International African American Museum in Charleston, South Carolina.

As we travel, we believe it’s just as important to understand the history, resilience, and stories that have shaped the communities whose food and culture we celebrate. This experience gave our young chefs an opportunity to reflect, learn, ask questions, and connect with a powerful legacy that continues to inspire generations.

The kitchen teaches us how cultures come together through food. The museum reminds us of the people, sacrifices, and perseverance behind those traditions.

At International Young Chefs, we’re not just developing great cooks—we’re cultivating informed, compassionate, and culturally aware leaders.

Thank you to the International African American Museum for preserving these stories and helping make this a truly unforgettable part of our Summer 2026 journey.

Our young chefs didn’t just prepare a meal—they learned the history, culture, and techniques that have made Lowcountry cooking a cherished part of Southern culinary heritage.
Every recipe tells a story, and every destination gives our chefs a deeper appreciation for the people, traditions, and communities that shape our food.
This is culinary education beyond the kitchen. ❤️👨🏽‍🍳

Cars with a Cause: International Young Chef’s 3rd Annual Car Show...

Some people deserve to be celebrated—not just for recognition, but for the quiet strength they carry behind the scenes.

Today, we want to publicly celebrate one of the strongest pillars of International Young Chefs, Toreon Hayes

Six years ago, she joined IYC as the parent of one of the participants. Today, she’s an active board member, a leader, a mentor but even more so she has become a valued member of the IYC family. She is one of the reasons our organization continues to thrive.

One memory I’ll never forget is waking up during one of our trips to find her in the middle of the night washing all of the kids’ swimsuits so they’d be clean and ready for the next day. No one asked her to do it—that’s just who she is.

While quietly serving everyone else, she’s also been navigating the heartbreaking loss of her husband, supporting her son, facing her own health challenges, and balancing life with incredible grace and strength.

Thank you for every sacrifice you’ve made, every child you’ve loved as your own, and every moment you’ve poured into International Young Chefs. We simply would not be who we are without you.

You are deeply loved, appreciated, and truly a blessing. ❤️

Good IYC Family…

We’re inviting the community out this weekend to Pork & Torque for a great time with a purpose. The International Young Chefs will be on-site providing delicious concessions while also hosting a scholarship drive to support one of our deserving youth scholars.

This is more than just an event—it’s an opportunity to come together as a community and make a meaningful impact. We welcome all to come out, enjoy the atmosphere, and support the cause.

There will be giveaways, prizes, and of course—great food! Donations of any amount are appreciated and go directly toward helping us reach our scholarship goal.
