Join us for the Opening Reception of “Moments That Made Us: America 250 / Douglas 125” — a special exhibit celebrating the history and legacy of our nation and community.

🎶 Stick around for the Mariachi Festival at Placita Park (in front of the Gadsden Hotel) from 2:30–7:30 PM. Live music, tacos de barbacoa, and proceeds benefiting the Boys & Girls Club of Douglas & the Mark Dannels Scholarship for Public Safety.

The exhibit continues Wed–Sat, 3–6 PM through May 30 (by appointments to check out)

🎉 Meet our 2026 BAC Fellows! For the first time ever, we’re funding 8 local artists from Douglas, Agua Prieta & surrounding border communities, making it our largest cohort yet. Congrats to Fernando Serrano, Andrea Pro, Diego Lopez, Vanessa Saavedra, Meme Garcia, Yadira Camacho Villa, Frida Gonzalez Rodriguez & Eduardo Salcido! 🎨🖼️ Join us Friday, February 27th (5–7 PM) for the opening reception of Cayetano Barceló: Retrospective. 50 Years of Painting on the Border at the Grand Theatre Gallery in Douglas.

Born in Agua Prieta in 1949 and nearly entirely self-taught, Cayetano’s work spans five decades. From chalkboard drawings as a child to powerful abstract compositions shaped by life on the border.

Over 40 paintings will be on view through March 22nd.
Come to celebrate this remarkable legacy with us!

Acompáñenos este viernes 27 de febrero (5–7 PM) a la inauguración de Cayetano Barceló: Una Retrospectiva — 50 Años Pintando en la Frontera en la Galería del Grand Theatre en Douglas.

Nacido en Agua Prieta en 1949 y casi completamente autodidacta, la obra de Cayetano abarca cinco décadas — desde sus dibujos en el pizarrón en la escuela hasta composiciones abstractas llenas de profundidad y fuerza, marcadas por la vida en la frontera.

Más de 40 pinturas estarán en exhibición hasta el 22 de marzo.
Nos encantará celebrar este legado con ustedes.

This 10-month program supports artists whose lives and work are shaped by the U.S.–Mexico border. Fellows explore the region’s histories of migration, social justice, and cultural exchange through community-based storytelling.

Requirements: ✅ Live/work in Douglas, AZ or Agua Prieta, SON (or live within 120 miles) ✅ 18+ years old ✅ Students encouraged to apply ✅ Able to travel for in-person workshops/events

On May 22, 2023, the First Presbyterian Church in Douglas, Arizona, suffered severe damage from a fire, leaving the building unusable.

Through a collaboration between the Church and Border Arts Corridor, artist Yadira Camacho created a mural to show the church’s rebirth from the ashes, representing faith, unity, love, resilience, peace, and community work.

On December 6, we witnessed the unveiling of the mural, as well as the opening of part of the church!

El 22 de Mayo del 2023, la Primera Iglesia Presbiteriana de Douglas, AZ fue fuertemente dañada por un incendio, dejando el edificio sin poder usarse.
A través de una colaboración entre la Iglesia y Border Arts Corridor, la artista Yadira Camacho creó un mural para mostrar el resurgimiento de la iglesia a partir de las cenizas, mostrando así la fe, unidad, amor, resilience, paz y trabajo comunitario.

El 6 de Diciembre, pudimos ser testigos de la presentación del mural, así como la apertura de una parte del templo.
