Good morning From Blessings in a Backpack! PSA: we had someone come through Douglas grocer with 12 EACH of the December coupons. This person said that “they were handing extras out at the school.” That is not the case. And has never been the case. We will not honor coupons in large quantities like this. Coupons are only received in individual Blessings in a Backpack bags in sealed envelopes. That is it. No one hands them out. This program cannot afford fraudulent coupons. Making fraudulent coupons will ensure us having to discontinue the coupon program.

Hello everyone! You should have received coupons yesterday or today in your kiddos Blessings in a Backpack bags! Yay!! It is the first time we’ve done coupons in several years! Thank you to the city of Douglas for supporting the coupons financially! And Douglas grocer for allowing us to use them at their store! All coupons are good for Douglas grocer only. Sorry that wasn’t on the coupons.

Hello friends!! It is distribution time again! This will be our final distribution for this summer! If your family could use some extra groceries for the next few weeks, message us the word SUMMER with your last name and the amount of school age children you have. Thats it! No other onfo is needed. Pick up is from 4:30 to 5:30 today at 805 East Richards also known as the Gathering Church!  we will be heading out a few household items for the final distribution. Walk-ins are welcome!

If you cannot make pick up time, we can schedule a pick up time tomorrow or deliver to your home this evening.

If you would like for your child to continue receiving blessings in a backpack throughout the year, message us “BIB 25” with each child’s name and grade, and we will make sure they receive their bags starting the first Friday of the school year! You can also sign up for the school year at the pick up tonight.

Blessings in a Backpack
SUMMER PROGRAM!
Hello from Blessings in a Backpack! We are so excited to announce that we will continue throughout the whole summer!
Blessing in a Backpack is a food program meant to help school-aged children with extra food over the weekend. Food items are dry goods such as: pasta and sauce, rice, dried beans, pancake mix and syrup, canned goods (fruits and vegetables, canned ravioli and soups), cereal, canned chicken or tuna, granola bars, fruit snacks, chocolate milk, etc. Usually a breakfast, lunch, dinner, fruit, vegetable, snack and dessert item are in each bag. And for this summer program, we’re doubling up, and then some, as we’re only doing pick-ups twice a month.
Bags will be available for pick-up on the dates below at the Gathering Church. Message Shinon Powers at with the word SUMMER and give the number of children in your family who will need bags and please provide a last name. If you are unable to pick-up we can deliver, but if you are able to pick-up please do, this will help keep the amount of deliveries at a manageable number.
Please don't hesitate to reach out with questions, comments, concerns, or input. This service is no cost to you and requires no qualifications. Just a text will do!
Bag pick-up dates will be twice a month during the summer at:
