We’re incredibly grateful to share that Children First Lakeshore has been awarded a $2,000 Feeding the Future Grant through the Farm Bureau Insurance of Michigan Agent Charitable Fund! 💙

These funds will help us continue providing nutritious, easy-to-prepare weekend food bags for local children and families facing food insecurity.

A huge thank you to Farm Bureau Insurance agent Jake Hedges for nominating us and for believing in the work being done to support students in Allegan County. We are so thankful for partners who help us continue making sure kids have access to food beyond the school week.

Together, we are helping feed the future. 💛

This past week, the Saugatuck Douglas Garden Club held their annual Christmas dinner at the Saugatuck Yacht Club, and they showed up with the sweetest kind of holiday spirit. Each member brought a box of candy canes to donate to Children First Lakeshore, and together they collected an amazing 965 candy canes!!!

We’re so grateful for this thoughtful gesture and for the Garden Club’s continued support of local kids and families.

Thank you for spreading a little extra cheer our way this season!

Be the Reason a Weekend Backpack Feels Full This Holiday
Children First Lakeshore has launched a **Holiday Can Drive** at the **Holland Hospital - Saugatuck location** (6490 Blue Star Hwy, Saugatuck, MI 49453)

We’re inviting our community to come together and spark a little holiday spirit by giving back. All donated food items go directly to local students and their families at Saugatuck, Fennville, and Innocademy Allegan Campus.

If you’re in the area, please consider dropping off a can or two. Your generosity brings warmth, dignity, and support to the families right here in our own backyard.

We’re so thankful for our partnership with Feeding America West Michigan, which helps us provide weekend food bags to local students in need. Partnerships like this make it possible for Children First Lakeshore to keep kids nourished and ready to learn all week long.

We love delivery days! 💙 Each week, Children First Lakeshore brings weekend food bags to local schools, so kids have access to nourishing meals beyond the classroom. Our mission is simple: to fight childhood hunger with dignity and care, making sure no student has to worry about food over the weekend.

Pictured here is our amazing delivery driver Glen, along with Fennville Middle School Principal Chris Grob and Administrative Assistant Tracy Pascoe - just a glimpse of the many hands and hearts that make this possible.

Together, we’re ensuring kids in our community have what they need to thrive.

Children First Lakeshore has a new delivery van!

This van is already hard at work every week, helping us:
~Deliver weekend meal backpacks to schools
~Pick up food and supplies from Feeding America

Every mile driven is another step toward our mission: making sure no child in our community goes hungry. Through our weekend backpack program, CFL provides nutritious, kid-friendly food that ensures students return to school on Monday ready to learn.

We’re so grateful to everyone who supports this work - your generosity helps us keep kids fed, families supported, and dignity at the heart of everything we do. 💙
