YES, Covey absolutely should be admiring himself in the mirror. He’s had a major glow-up!

Not so long ago, Covey was skin and bones, alone in the middle of nowhere and surviving on deer corn. 💔

A hunter began noticing a desperately thin hound appearing on his deer camera. Covey kept coming back to the plot, eating the corn that had been put out for the deer. He wasn’t looking for trouble.
He was simply trying to stay alive.

Thankfully, the hunter who saw him had a heart for rescue, and that deer camera ended up being the beginning of a completely different life for Covey. Big bonus that the hunter’s wife is a veterinarian at Quailwood Animal Hospital in Tifton Georgia! ☺️

Together, these two brought Covey back from the brink of death.

And now? Covey can stand in front of a mirror looking at his reflection like:🪞 “Well, hello there, handsome. Do I know you?” 😂

Covey is approximately 3 years old and 50 pounds, and he has joined the Coffee Cause For Paws family.

He’s still trying to figure out exactly where he fits, but he’s a good boy. His little brain is working overtime taking in this whole new world.

For example- Bed time. The foster mom puts him in the bed with her.
Covey jumps down. She pretends she’s not paying attention to him, Covey jumps back on the bed, and next thing she knows Covey is sleeping hard all through the night.

He’s a velcro pup but that may change over time. You can tell he trusts people with all his heart.

He’s still learning the household routine, but apparently this formerly homeless deer-corn-eating hound has already figured out how to press the doorbell at the front door. 😂

Sir. You were surviving in the woods on deer corn and now you’re ringing doorbells?

Talk about moving up in the world.

There’s still a lot for Covey to learn. He’s settling in, watching everyone around him and trying to understand where he belongs.

What we’d love for him to learn next is something he’s probably never known before: He belongs to somebody.

He deserves a family that will make sure he never has to wonder where his next meal is coming from again.

A family who gives him a bed until he finally understands that yes, buddy, that bed really is yours.

And a family who can look at the handsome dog standing in front of that mirror and remember just how far he came.

I love making the most out of every day. Whether I'm chasing toys, investigating every corner of the room, or finding new adventures, I'm always ready for fun. I have plenty of kitten energy and an endless curiosity about the world around me.

Okay, Yorkie lovers… you might want to sit down for this one.

Meet Ryder, a 6-year-old, 5.6-pound teeny-tiny gentleman who is basically a pocket-sized best friend. 🥹

Ryder is an absolute DELIGHT. He’s sweet. He’s loving. He’s good with just about anything and everything. And more than anything, he just wants to be with his person.

Going to work? Ryder says, “I’ll come.”
Running errands? “I’m ready.”
Road trip? “Shotgun!” 🚗
Sitting on the couch doing absolutely nothing? “Perfect. Scoot over.”

This little fella LOVES to go, and at only 5.6 pounds, he’s the perfect travel companion. Tuck him under your arm and off you go. Ryder doesn’t care where the destination is—as long as he gets to be beside you. ❤️

Now, in the interest of full disclosure, Mr. Perfect does have one tiny flaw. 😂

🚽 His house training is still a work in progress.

Ryder goes outside and potties with the rest of the dogs in his foster home like a good boy, but every now and then he forgets that the bathroom rules also apply inside. 🤦‍♀️😂

Nothing a little patience—and a belly band—can’t handle.

And when you consider everything else this precious little guy brings to the table, we think we can forgive him. ❤️

MEET HARMONY — A LITTLE GIRL WHO DESERVES A GENTLER CHAPTER 🐾

At only 4 months old, Harmony has already learned something no puppy should have to learn — sometimes life hurts.

She was picked up by animal control.
Placed in the animal shelter.
No one came to claim her.
She was injured.
And before she had even really gotten a chance to be a puppy, she had undergone two surgeries on her hip.

But somehow, none of it changed the sweetness inside her. ❤️

Harmony is a 20 pound Lab mix with four working paws, a sometimes-wobbly limp, and a heart that seems completely unaware that life has ever given her a reason not to trust.

She may not run quite as fast as her playmates, but that certainly doesn’t stop her from joining in or making friends. She has met dogs of all sizes, children, and cats, and she has been gentle with every single one.

Harmony is a little bit of everything you hope to find in a furbaby — sweet, gentle, social, playful, loving, and incredibly resilient.

Somewhere out there is a family who can make sure the rest of her story is filled with soft beds, gentle hands, playmates who wait for her to catch up, and the kind of love she should have known from the very beginning. 🏡❤️

Hi... I'm Nebula, a 4-month-old Domestic Medium Hair black tabby girl with a gentle heart and a quiet spirit.
I'm still learning that the world can be a safe and happy place. New people and new situations make me a little nervous, so I tend to hang back and observe before jumping into the action.

Two years ago, we introduced you to a tiny little dog named Claire.

She had been rescued from a hoarding situation where she had spent much of her life confined to a small cage. When she came to us, she even had two birdshot pellets embedded beneath her skin.

And yet somehow… Claire still loved people. ❤️

She was adopted in 2024 by a wonderful couple who absolutely adored her, and for the next two years, Claire lived the life every rescue dog deserves. She had a home. She had laps to sleep in. She had people who loved her.

She was HOME. 🏡

Then life changed.

Her family welcomed a baby, and after a lot of trying, adjusting, and some very difficult decisions, they came to the heartbreaking realization that their home was no longer the right fit for Claire.

So at 7 years old, Claire has found herself starting over. 💔

And y’all… she is STILL the same precious little soul we fell in love with years ago.

Claire is only 14 pounds and is the definition of a lap baby. She absolutely worships her people. If her foster mom sits down, Claire has found her spot. If her foster dad gets up, there’s a good chance a tiny 14-pound shadow isn’t far behind. 😂❤️

It breaks our hearts to see her returned after watching her get her happily-ever-after for two amazing years. But Claire doesn’t need us to feel sorry for her. She just needs us to help her find her next forever. ❤️

Unfortuntely, this Monday morning isn’t as cheerful as we had hoped. Lady 🐞is back.

We are saddened bc we just knew we got it right, but in the end it simply wasn’t the right match.

Lady previously lived successfully with cats, however, when a cat ran from her in her adoptive home, her instinct was to chase, and furniture went flying. No one was hurt, thankfully, but definitely something none of us expected. And then when the adopter’s autistic grandson visited carrying his treasured stuffed animal, Lady couldn’t tell the difference between it and one of her toys. Lady became excited, and because she is such a powerful girl, she was more than her adopter could physically manage.

Lady is not a bad dog, and her adopter is not a bad person. It simply wasn’t the right fit.

Here’s what you need to know about our girl:

Although Lady previously did well with cats and children, we believe her next home should be without cats or small children. She needs someone familiar with strong breeds who understands that even a sweet dog can become overwhelming when excited.

And food? Well, food is still very much her love language. 🍔😂 If Lady believes a snack may be nearby, she becomes very committed to the investigation!

We don’t know exactly who Ladybug’s perfect person is yet, but we know we cannot get this wrong again. Her next adoption needs to be her forever adoption.

🐾 Tabby Deserves Her Soft Landing 🐾

Some animals come into rescue needing to be saved from the streets. Others come to us because, through no fault of their own, the life they knew simply disappears.

Tabby is one of those cats. 💔

In 2024, at 12 years old, Tabby came into the care of Coffee Cause for Paws after her owner passed away. She lost the person she knew, the home she knew, and everything familiar to her.

Since then, she has been adopted twice. Her first adoption lasted about a year before she was returned. She was given another chance at a home and, after six months, Tabby has once again been returned to us.

None of it was her fault.

And that’s the part that breaks our hearts.

Tabby is now 14 years old. She isn’t asking for much. She doesn’t need excitement or adventure.

She just needs someone willing to open their home for whatever time she has left.

She is an easygoing, gentle, incredibly sweet older girl who deserves to know what it feels like to settle into a home and never have to leave again.

We want Tabby’s next car ride to take her home for good. We want her to have a favorite sunny spot, a soft bed, a person who knows all her little routines, and the security of knowing that this time, she gets to stay.

At 14, Tabby may not have as many years ahead of her as a kitten does—but those years matter just as much. Maybe even more. ❤️

Somewhere out there is the person who won’t look at Tabby and see an “old cat.”

Tabby deserves her soft landing.
She deserves her forever.
And more than anything, she deserves to never be returned again. 🐾❤️
