We run an After-School Program serving the youth of Douglas. We are open until 6:30pm most nights. Register your child today at bgcdouglas.com!

Youth Development Organization

The mission of the Boys and Girls Club of Douglas is to inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens. Boys & Girls Club of Douglas (BGCD) has 3 Priority Outcomes:
1) Academic Success
2) Good Character and Citizenship
3) Healthy Lifestyles

Throughout its history

, the Boys and Girls Club has focused on meeting the needs of children as they grow to young adults. The Club helps them to help themselves, to realize their full potential for development and improvement, and to become responsible citizens with the skills necessary for living. We are open most days that the schools are closed, including from 7am to 6pm during Winter Break, Spring Break, and Summer Break, in addition to the School Teacher Work Days. We serve one snack on After School Days, and breakfast, lunch, and two snacks on full days. We also offer Love and Logic classes for parents of our members.

Our homeschool garden class has been busy preserving summer’s beauty! We pressed and dried flowers from our garden and turned them into stunning sun catchers. 🌼

This hands-on project is a beautiful blend of science and art—teaching us how to preserve nature while creating something we can enjoy all season long. It’s a lovely reminder of the vibrant blooms and sunny days we’ve shared together. 🌿

🌟 Huge Thank You to Western Midstream! 🌟

We are beyond grateful for the amazing crew from Western Midstream who went above and beyond to help us out at the Boys & Girls Club of Douglas!

Their team tackled a long list of building issues with care and efficiency, and we couldn’t be more appreciative. Here's what they helped us with:

🏀 Repaired our basketball hoops that had been out of commission for far too long—our members are thrilled to be back on the court!

🏐 Retrieved a stray ball that had been stuck on the roof of the gym (yes, really!).

🌲 Removed several hazardous logs and play equipment from our outdoor areas, making our space safer for everyone.

🚪 Fixed multiple doors and took care of various odds and ends that had been piling up.

Their generosity and hard work have made a huge difference in our daily operations and the safety and joy of our members. Thank you, Western Midstream, for being such a thoughtful and impactful community partner!

🇺🇸 Cocoa & Cards – Honoring Our Veterans 🇺🇸

Join us at the Boys & Girls Club of Douglas on Veteran’s Day - Tuesday, November 11, for a special day of gratitude and community!

We’re inviting parents, members, and community friends to come together to make cards for the veterans in your life. Let them know how thankful you are for their service and sacrifice.

We’ll also be creating extra cards to share with our local Legion, ensuring that every veteran feels recognized and appreciated—even if they don’t have someone nearby to thank them personally.

And of course, we’ll have hot cocoa to keep everyone cozy while we craft and connect. ☕❤️

Today, we celebrate someone whose dedication has shaped the very heart of the Boys & Girls Club of Douglas — Paige Rider. For over 16 years, Paige has been a driving force behind our mission, serving in multiple leadership roles and leaving an incredible legacy of commitment and care.

💬 What inspired Paige to join the board?
"My friend Teri Griffin — she saw something beneficial in me that I couldn’t see myself."

💙 What she loves most about BGCD:
"Seeing and hearing the success stories of our Club members."

🏆 Her proudest accomplishment:
"It has to be our current facility. That took tenacity and blood, sweat, and tears — okay, maybe no blood!"

"My passion has always been to get teens involved. We’ve grown from less than 10 to over 50 teen members — and I’d love to see that continue."
