📻 I’d like to hear from our community.

As most of you have probably heard, 105.7 WQAH is shutting down. For a lot of us, that’s more than just losing a radio station. WQAH has been part of our area for years and has given local organizations, businesses, churches, veterans groups, and everyday people a way to get information out to the community.

As Commander of Garrison-Bonds American Legion Post 184 in Double Springs, one of the things I'm thinking about is how we're going to keep getting information out to everyone without WQAH.

We have fundraisers, events, building rentals, veterans programs, and other things happening at the Post, and advertising doesn't do us much good if we're advertising somewhere people aren't actually looking or listening.

So I'm asking you personally: How would you like us to reach you?

Where do you get your local information?

Facebook? Another radio station? Newspaper? Community Facebook groups? Flyers? Text messages? Something completely different?

I'm not looking to guess what people want. I'd rather ask the people we're trying to reach.

So please leave me a comment and tell me what you think. Even if you don't normally comment, I'd appreciate hearing from you on this one.

And if you know somebody who might have a good idea, tag them or share this post. I want to hear as many suggestions as possible.

I also want to say thank you to everyone at 105.7 WQAH who has helped promote our communities and local organizations over the years. Losing a local station like this is going to leave a hole that won't be easy to fill.

But our community still needs to stay connected, and I want to make sure Post 184 does its part.
