The ALWF Foundation encourages stewardship through planned giving, endowment funds, and managing funds in order to strengthen the work of the church.

Join us for a conversation with Larry Cole and Mitchel Brennan of Burgess Chambers & Associates (BCA), the investment consulting firm that works alongside the Foundation.

Our consultants will share who they are and the many ways they support the Foundation’s investment process as a fiduciary. They will discuss their independent, open architecture approach to investment recommendations, manager due diligence, and performance evaluation, while detailing their role in developing and reviewing the Foundation’s investment policy statement, monitoring investment compliance with the Book of Discipline, and risk management through systematic rebalancing recommendations and asset allocation studies. You’ll also learn more about the Foundation’s Investment Committee, which applies prudent investment guidelines and social screening and continually monitors the Equity, Income, and Balanced Funds for stable, long-term growth.

This session offers a closer look at the experience, professionalism, and layers of accountability behind every church and agency fund we manage. Bring your questions: we’ll open and close with time for Q&A so the conversation can focus on what matters most to you.

As we come to the end of 2026, there are two big generosity moments that you can use to grow your church’s overall culture of generosity. In this webinar, Chris Stovall will give you specific ideas to make Giving Tuesday and Year-End Giving far more impactful.

What we will cover:
• Giving Tuesday started in 2012 and has steadily grown in popularity and success. In 2025, United States nonprofits raised $617 billion in charitable contributions and $4 billion on Giving Tuesday alone. Even though Giving Tuesday is more generally used by non-church nonprofits, Chris has some great ideas for how your church can take advantage of this special day.
• The end of each year is probably one of the most natural times that people are open and willing to be more generous. National averages and Generis research both show that December is the largest giving month for churches and that individuals generally choose where their giving will go by November. Every church would be wise to have a Year-End Giving strategy, and at our upcoming event, Chris will share ideas your church can implement as part of its strategy.

We are grateful for the strong turnout at our August event, "Trends in Church Giving: Faithful Giving in a New Generation of Givers." Attendees heard valuable insights from our expert speakers and a panel of Conference pastors, and had the opportunity to learn from one another through round table discussions. Gatherings like this are always a blessing, offering meaningful fellowship and connection.

In July, the Foundation held a retirement celebration honoring Terri Turner's more than 35 years of dedicated service. It was a joy to celebrate this remarkable woman, whose work has left a lasting impact on the Foundation and on local churches throughout Alabama and Florida. 🎉🙌❤️
