It's Okay to Ask for Help

Life can be challenging, and sometimes the weight we carry feels too heavy to bear alone. Remember, asking for help is not a sign of weakness—it is a sign of courage. God created us to support one another, encourage one another, and walk together through life's struggles.

No parent should have to worry about how they’ll keep food on the table for their children during the summer months.

That’s why SUN Bucks is such an important resource for Alabama families. Through the Summer EBT program, eligible children can receive a one-time benefit of $120 to help families purchase groceries while school is out.

Most eligible families are enrolled automatically, but if you haven’t received benefits and think your child may qualify, there’s still time to apply! The deadline for 2026 benefits is August 15, 2026.

It never hurts to apply or ask if you’re eligible. And please help spread the word by sharing this information with family, friends, neighbors, and anyone who may benefit.

📣Coming July 16 — Our First Annual ComfortCALLS Day!

❤️ComfortCALLS is Wiregrass 211’s telephone reassurance program, designed to support homebound seniors who may be facing isolation. Through this program, our volunteers make scheduled calls, offering friendly conversation, connection, and comfort.

✅On July 16, we invite our entire community to join us in making a difference. Take a few moments to place three simple phone calls—to a homebound church member, a family member, or a retired friend. With the extreme July heat, it’s the perfect time to check in on their well-being and lift their spirits.

❤️A small gesture can go a long way. Make the connection. Show compassion. Share comfort.
