FARM TO TABLE DINNER🍅🥬🍉

Last night I had the honor of attending the annual Farm to Table dinner hosted by Sweet Grown Alabama. At this event, Alabama Farmer’s were highlighted with delectable dishes using only local products. Astonishing Chefs from The Hound, Auburn, catered our meal and crafted each dish beautifully. We shared watermelon samples as an appetizer for attendees!

Thank you Sweet Grown Alabama for hosting this amazing event and allowing me the opportunity to share the love of watermelon! Thank you to the National Watermelon Promotion Board for sponsoring this event possible! We were able to share our favorite fruit with all dinner guests!🫶

ALFA FARM & LAND CONFERENCE🍉🚜🌱

Today I had the opportunity to join horticulture and specialty crop leaders at the annual Alabama Farm & Land Conference. We had an amazing morning learning about Eubanks Family Farms and their 3 entities. After learning about Eubanks Produce, Charlie’s Upik, and Eubanks Family Ranch; we proceeded with a packing shed tour. I had the opportunity to close out the tour and speak in regards to what I do as Queen and teach the attendees more about watermelon and the industry as a whole.

Today we honor the men and women whose dedication keeps our farms thriving and our tables full. MARDEL QUEEN TOUR🦀❤️🍉

Day 2 was one to remember! This morning we began at the Rehoboth Boardwalk; we shared delicious watermelon slices with all the beach visitors. It was such a delight to share a refreshing slice on a hot Delaware day! Thank you DMC Farms for supplying us with the watermelons.

We finished our day at Food Lion in Harrington, DE! We had the best time sharing our favorite National Watermelon Promotion Board recipes, along with some watermelon goodies such as bracelets and activity books that Food Lion kindly provided to their customers. Thank you Mr Wade for allowing us to share the love of watermelon in your store!

MARDEL QUEEN TOUR🦀❤️🍉

The MarDel Queen Tour is in full swing! Day 1 began with a coffee from Sweet Brew , thank you DMC Farms for starting our day off strong. Chris Hogg with Seedway was the best host and took us to explore and learn new things. We stopped at the Laurel Farmers Auction Market. Mr.Bob Gibson, with Gibson Produce, showed us around The Block and shared the history behind it. We then proceeded to Air-AG, Mr.Mark Greenly, amazed us with the crop dusting operation and allowed us to take a look at the plane that makes it happen. Mr. Travis Hastings, with Lakeside Farms, hosted us at one of his grafted fields and taught us more about the grafting process. Melon 1 provided a delicious lunch. We continued our tour with Reid Farms and we were surprised with a fly over! We finished off our farm tours with a sensational visit to DMC Farms, where we were given the sweetest treat, watermelon, of course! We closed our night, with some delicious blue crab at the annual MarDel Watermelon Ball! Thank you to each person who gave this Mississippi girl a warm welcome to Maryland and Delaware. We appreciate you all and what you do for this industry!❤️
