Here’s a quick video to explain the Wiregrass 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb & Walk with answers to frequently asked questions.

A couple things that I missed when recording:
*Shirt deadline is Aug 31st!
*When registering, you will see an option to buy addition shirts. Please be sure to check your total before checking out to be sure you didn’t add extras if you didn’t mean to.
*Attending as a spectator is completely FREE!

We still need volunteers for our event! Sign up now to help at the climb—volunteers must be 10+ years old, will receive a free t-shirt, and some positions can do the climb after their station duties if they'd like (noted on the signup). Thank you for helping to make this event a success!

Here is a general timeline for your reference:
Saturday, September 12th
1630: Volunteers arrive
1800: Opening Ceremony begins
1830: Climb/Walk begins
2000-2030: Climb/Walk should be wrapping up

Volunteers are welcome to help take down event signs, tape, etc but are not required to do so.

If you have not seen the documentary 9/11 filmed by the Naudet brothers, we encourage you to watch it prior to the climb/walk. The link above will take you to a 13 minute video with the two filmmakers who captured chilling footage on 9/11/01, including time inside the North Tower after it was hit.

911 Memorial Stair Climbs

While people poured down the stairs in attempt to get out of the towers on 9/11, the first responders were gearing up and running into those same stairwells. They weren’t forced to go in, they chose to do so. Join us in honoring their legacy alongside our own hometown heroes.
