🎉 Congratulations to Chief Steven Locke of the South Burlington Fire Department (VT) on being installed as the 150th President of the International Association of Fire Chiefs during Fire-Rescue International 2026 in Kansas City.

Joining him on the IAFC Executive Committee are Chief Ernest Malone (Indianapolis, IN), First Vice President, and Chief Mike Snider (Lee's Summit, MO), Second Vice President. We also extend our sincere thanks to Immediate Past President Chief Trisha Wolford for her exceptional leadership and service.

Chief Jonathan McCrary

Featured Member | Southeastern Association of Fire Chiefs

The strength of the Southeastern Association of Fire Chiefs is built upon leaders who serve with integrity, vision, and an unwavering commitment to the fire service. This month, we are proud to recognize Chief Jonathan McCrary as our Featured Member Spotlight.

With 25 years of dedicated service in the fire service, Chief McCrary currently serves as a District Fire Chief with the Chatham County Fire Department in Savannah, Georgia. Throughout his career, he has distinguished himself through servant leadership, professional excellence, and a steadfast commitment to advancing the fire service.

Chief McCrary has demonstrated a passion for developing firefighters, mentoring future leaders, and fostering meaningful partnerships that strengthen both the fire service and the communities we proudly serve. His leadership is guided by a commitment to excellence, accountability, and the belief that investing in people is the foundation of a stronger organization.

A dedicated leader within the Southeastern Association of Fire Chiefs, Chief McCrary served as the local lead in planning the 2026 SEAFC Leadership Conference in Savannah, Georgia. Through his vision, tireless dedication, and passion for the Association, he helped deliver a memorable and highly successful conference that brought together fire service professionals from across the region to learn, collaborate, and strengthen the profession. In recognition of his outstanding leadership and commitment to the Association, Chief McCrary was subsequently appointed to the Southeastern Association of Fire Chiefs Conference Planning Committee, where he continues to help shape future leadership conferences.

As an active member of the Association, Chief McCrary exemplifies the collaborative spirit that defines the Southeastern Association of Fire Chiefs. Whether sharing knowledge, embracing innovation, or encouraging leadership development, he remains committed to strengthening departments, empowering leaders, and advancing the fire service throughout the Southeast.

We are honored to recognize Chief Jonathan McCrary for his outstanding leadership, dedicated service, and lasting contributions to the fire service profession.
