🔥🚫 Protecting Gillespie County Starts With Prevention 🚫🔥

Due to current conditions and increased wildfire danger, the Gillespie County Commissioners Court has enacted a Burn Ban effective at 9:15 a.m. on August 21, 2026, for all unincorporated areas of Gillespie County.

When temperatures are high and vegetation is dry, a single spark can have devastating consequences. By following the burn ban and practicing fire-safe habits, we can reduce the risk of wildfires and protect our neighbors, first responders, homes, livestock, and natural resources.

#185 Doss mesonet station now complete. Will release real-time data soon after comms testing. Thank you to the Geistweidt Family and the Doss Volunteer Fire Department for helping with this station in Gillespie County.

TXDot Road Repair Update:

Repairs will start on:

DATE: July 21, 2026
TIME: All day starting by at least 7:00 a.m. till the end of the day.

Please make alternate changes as needed if you live in this area. Reach out to family and friends to help get the message out.

783 North will be closed all day tomorrow to repair washout of the road and a few pavement issues at the low water crossings.

These concerns and repairs are from the recent flooding.

The main issues are at Edward’s Creek near Manner Road.

TXDot will have 783 North completely closed down tomorrow all day at that location.

There will be others TXDot crews working on the other locations in this area as well

TXDot will have a message board on the Harper end of 783 North that will display

“ROAD CLOSED NO THRU TRAFFIC”.

There will be another message board located on the Doss Side of 783 North with the same message as well.

TXDot stated they will be able to open the road tomorrow at the end of the day.

Please don’t go around the road Closed barricades.

This is for the safety of the TXDot crews and allow the crews to get the work done in a timely manner.

7/15 4:45P: Check out the 72 hours rainfall measurements from the LCRA gauge system as of right now. As you can see, a lot of rain has fallen on the western side of the County.

Areas with the highest totals today will be the most sensitive to flash flooding in hours to come with any future rounds.
