West Michigan Partnership for Children WMPC prioritizes placing children with relatives and procuring adoption services only when return to home is not possible.

The 2017 launch of WMPC is the result of a long-term collaboration between dedicated professionals, Kent County community leaders and partners, Michigan Child Welfare Partnership Council, and legislators. As the only private entity in Michigan to oversee a network of foster care and service providers, WMPC and its partners work seamlessly with the public sector to improve outcomes for abused and neglected children. Valuing reunification and family preservation, WMPC and its partner agencies seek to strengthen and empower families, increasing reunifications and decreasing the time children spend in the child welfare system. WMPC is transparent and accountable to its community and stakeholders for improving the lives of children in Kent County. In solidarity with the people most affected by the child welfare system, we are partners in this journey to create better futures for children
