Our 'Found in Translation tree' is a tradition at graduation where we ask graduates what they 'found in translation.' Our Language Access Fellowship Manager and Class of 2018 alumna Sara shares about why this is so meaningful.
At 15 years, we're reflecting on all we've found in translation: community, knowledge, connection, access, impact... What have you found in translation?

This week our Founder and Executive Director, Maria, and Deputy Director, Denise, attended the .ORG Impact Awards in Washington, D.C. Public Interest Registry, the folks behind the .org domains, honor global changemakers with these awards. Found in Translation was a finalist in the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion category for the second year in a row. This year, we were among over 4,000 applicants from 145 countries, and we were honored to be among 35 finalists. πŸ’œ

Maria and Denise also got to meet with Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley's team to share about our work. Thanks to PIR and our partners at Monument Advocacy for making this possible! We had an amazing time connecting with other finalists and the PIR team and celebrating the impactful work of organizations around the world! Congratulations to the winners, and cheers to every changemaker for your important work! πŸŽ‰

Today is International Translation Day, recognizing the work of translators and language professionals who connect us through language. Translators bridge cultural gaps and facilitate communication. There's no language access without interpreters and translators, and we are grateful for your essential work!

Then ➑️ Now
Two classes, nearly 15 years apart. One community. πŸ’œ
From our very first class (Class of 2012) to our most recent (Class of 2026), Found in Translation has grown, adapted, and evolved. What's remained constant is our commitment to creating opportunities for bilingual women to achieve economic security while using their language skills. We have been honored to invest in 15 years of women building careers and strengthening language access. As we celebrate 15 years, we are grateful for every alumna who has been part of the journey!
