We did a poor job of taking pictures but did a great job training. We were able to do a controlled burn last night. Prior to the burn we took some time to work on pump operations, scba, forcible entry, and positive ventilation. Live fires on structures are the best training opportunities we have so we try to take advantage when we have the chance. The property owners gave a generous donation for helping clean the property as well. That money goes directly towards updating equipment. Thanks to the property owners for the opportunity, to our team for taking the time out of their schedule to train, as well as our neighbors at Alvord Fire and Rescue for bringing some water and training with us last night.

In honor of America's 250th birthday, Doon Fire is partnering with Kelderman Kustom Designs & More to offer a shirt to support your local fire department and honor the birthday of the USA! Shirts are $20-$24 and can be ordered on Keldermans online store, print and fill out an order form, stop at Kelderman Kustoms in Doon, or reach out to Mykle Kelderman or Joel Sneller to place your order.

Well that was impressive! We beat out previous record of funds raised by over $3000! Thank you so much!

Remember to mark the calendars for saturday morning. We also have to go boxes for anyone in the field or at work that morning! Come help us raise some funds for new gear.

This is our biggest fundraiser every year and we hope to have great participation again this year! All the funds raised are being used to update new turnout gear. Did you know each set of gear costs roughly $5200 and expires every 10 years? We have been trying to update 3-4 sets of gear each year. Help us replace some extra ones next year!

Last night Doon Fire had the opportunity to do our annual vehicle extrication training. We spent time working on vehicle stabilization as well as discussing different access options for this specific scenario.
This winter we were able to purchase battery operated tools from NWIA Dinges Fire to replace our old hydraulic setup. It was very obvious last night that was the correct decision. Picture of those tools in comments.

Doon EMS would like to say Thank You to our community as well as the Lyon County Riverboat Foundation. With the ability to use local donations as matching funds, Doon EMS was able to acquire a grant from LCRF to help purchase an upgraded ambulance and power cot.
We hope this purchase will help provide a reliable service for many years to come!
