VOTE EARLY, MISSOURI!

You don't have to wait until November 3. Here's what to know:

✅ NOW: Excused absentee voting is open for voters with a qualifying reason. Check notary and ID requirements before you mail it.

⏰ OCT. 21, 5 PM: Last day to request an absentee ballot.

✅ OCT. 20 through NOV. 2: No-excuse early voting in person for ALL registered voters. Bring a photo ID.

📬 NOV. 3, 7 PM: Absentee ballots must be received by your local election authority.

DYK Missouri has established safe places for newborns? If a parent choses to permanently give up their newborn, they can leave them in a newborn safety incubator or with a law enforcement officer, an on duty firefighter or EMT, or an employee, agent, or member of the staff in a healthcare provider position (to include on duty nonmedical paid or volunteer positions) of any hospital, maternity home, or pregnancy resource center without prosecution as long as it is done according to law and safely. If you are currently receiving SNAP benefits, there is no action required or change to your benefits! If you are applying for SNAP, renewing your benefits, or adding someone to your case on or after October 1, 2026, you may be asked to provide proof of certain:

👶 Childcare or dependent care expenses
💳 Resources, such as money in a bank account

Examples of acceptable proof may include bills, receipts, lease agreements, bank statements, or written verification from the person or business you pay.

MoDOT plans to improve the intersection of Route 160/142 and Route Y in Doniphan, Missouri.

In an effort to update aging infrastructure, the project includes replacing the existing span wire signals. The existing span wire traffic signals will be replaced with modern traffic signals (mast arms and signal heads) to better align with current design practices. In addition, the project includes widening and constructing islands for right turns.

Tentatively, the project will be let in December 2027, with construction beginning as early as February 2028. Construction will be underway for approximately three months. During work, motorists should anticipate potential lane closures and minor delays.

Maps, plans, and other information prepared by the Missouri Department of Transportation will be available for public inspection and copying at MoDOT’s Sikeston District office, 2675 N. Main St. in Sikeston, Missouri.

LOOK WHAT’S COMING TOGETHER! 💚

Our Ozark Foothills Community Connections Day of Service is growing, and we’re excited about the organizations already saying YES to being part of the day!

Join us Friday, October 2, from 2–5 p.m. at McLane Park in Poplar Bluff for an afternoon centered around community, service and simply being good neighbors.

We’ll have FREE food, live music, cotton candy, community resources, volunteer opportunities, local organizations to connect with, and more!

And this is only the beginning — more community partners are still joining us!

This event is being held during Missouri Good Neighbor Week, when communities across the state are encouraged to connect with their neighbors and strengthen the places they call home. 💚 Missouri Good Neighbor Week runs Sept. 28–Oct. 4, 2026.

We are incredibly grateful to ServMO for helping make this possible through an America 250 Mini-Grant. ServMO recently announced the Community Foundation of the Ozarks as a recipient specifically for our Ozark Foothills Community Connection Day of Service.

📣 WE’RE HIRING: COMMUNITY COORDINATOR

Ripley County Partnership is seeking a compassionate, dependable individual who enjoys helping people overcome barriers and connect with practical community resources.

This temporary, part-time position will provide service navigation, community outreach and referral coordination for individuals and families—including justice-involved individuals working toward stability and self-sufficiency.

✅ $16–$18 per hour, based on qualifications
✅ Up to 29 hours per week
✅ Nine-month position: October 1, 2026–June 30, 2027
✅ Located in Doniphan, Missouri

Experience in community services, case management, reentry, outreach, program coordination or nonprofit work is preferred. Relevant experience may substitute for formal education.
