What a fun and productive week we have had so far!
Our individuals participated in a variety of hands-on activities designed to build independence, healthy decision-making, communication, social skills, and everyday life skills. π
π Library Outing β We enjoyed time in the community, explored books, practiced appropriate social interactions, and encouraged a love of reading.
π₯ Healthy Habits & Nutrition Labels β We learned about healthy choices and practiced reading nutrition labels to identify important information when making food choices.
π§Ή Cleaning & Life Skills β We practiced keeping our environment clean and organized while building independence with everyday responsibilities.
π° Needs, Wants & Smart Spending β We worked on identifying needs versus wants and discussed making smart choices when spending money.
β° Time Management β We practiced understanding schedules, managing our time, and completing activities within an appropriate timeframe.
π What Makes a Good Day? β We talked about positive choices, helpful attitudes, social interactions, and the things that can help make each day successful.
π Fall Weather Safety & Weather-Appropriate Clothing β We discussed changing temperatures, staying safe in fall weather, and choosing clothing that is appropriate for the weather.
π What Happens in the Fall? β We explored seasonal changes, falling leaves, cooler temperatures, shorter days, and other signs of fall.
π Finish the Story β We used creativity, communication, listening, and imagination to work together and complete stories.
πͺ Mirror, Mirror β We practiced following movements, paying attention to others, and improving coordination.
π€« Secret Leader β We worked on observation, attention, following directions, and identifying leadership through movement.
π Movement Charades β We used movement and body language to communicate ideas while practicing social interaction and participation.
4οΈβ£ Four Corners β We practiced making choices, following directions, movement, and interacting appropriately with peers.
π Team Challenge β We worked together, practiced cooperation, communication, problem-solving, and encouraging our teammates.
From learning important life skills to getting out into the community and having fun with our peers, it was a week full of learning, participation, independence, and positive experiences! π
