D Double Prime™ (D″), created by The Stone Pit, is officially launching summer programming support!

Many of you know us through rocks, minerals, and local art at The Stone Pit. D″ grew from that same passion and was created to bring people and families closer to the natural world through hands-on experiences, exploration, and real-world discovery.

Through geology, landscapes, water, fossils, weather, and outdoor exploration, we want to create meaningful opportunities that encourage curiosity, connection, and wellness.

This summer we are working toward launching hands-on Earth science programs and creating opportunities for people to experience the Laurel Highlands in ways that are active, memorable, and rooted in real places.

Great news! The approval is in! We are officially a 501(c)(3) charitable organization! Our next goals are to get our website up and running, set a date for official opening, and start scheduling programs! Stay tuned!

Things are moving along! We are waiting for approval for 501(c)(3) status, starting fundraising soon, and will be opening up for membership. Please click the follow button to keep getting updates!

We will be looking for volunteers to help with fundraising and programming. Please message us if you are interested in being a volunteer. We require appropriate clearances and background checks necessary for working with children.

This has been years in the making, and it feels good to finally open this space.

D Double Prime™ is a nonprofit created to bring families closer to the natural world through curiosity, connection, and real-world experience. What started as an idea has grown into something I’m proud to share, a place built with intention and a lot of hands-on work.

This space is for slowing down, asking questions, and paying attention to the world around you. Simple moments can become meaningful ones when you give them room, and that’s the kind of experience we’re creating here.

You’re invited to notice, explore, and engage with the land in a way that feels real and lasting.

We’re just getting started, and I’m excited for what this will grow into.

Grounded, hands-on, and meant to be experienced, not just observed.
