Training Instructor - Solar PV
Job Description
Job Type: Part-time
Hours: 8 AM - 2 PM M-F
Rate of Pay: $28-32/hour (depending on experience)
Instructors will be trained to teach from the developed course curriculum by the industry’s highly recognized credentials and certification from NABCEP.
Overall Responsibility of Training Instructor:
Conduct online and on-site classroom style training for solar photovoltaics technology, processes, and related subject areas
Facilitate hands-on learning curriculum training
Evaluate student performance and record grades
Ensure students who successfully complete programs receive digital badge and access to certification and career resources
Submit daily and weekly reports to the Master Trainer on classroom, incidents and students progress
Assist with updating curriculum and course syllabus based on classroom needs
Meets with and advises students either before or after class or by appointment, electronic communication, or other appropriate methods to maintain success of students
Evaluates students to measure their progress in achieving course objectives and communicate identified issues in a timely manner
Maintains professional relationships with students and colleagues.
Continuously improves instructional quality by reviewing and utilizing innovative methodologies, techniques and delivery methods.
Attends meetings, trainings and orientations as required and provided by the Master Trainer
Responsible for other reasonable related duties as assigned.
Support the development of related continuing professional education courses in accordance with industry certification requirements.
Solar Training Curriculum includes:
Solar PV technologies, protocols, and best practices including PV application, design, installation, operation and maintenance.
Educational and/or Certifications Required:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Possess an NCCER Instructor certification (OR) be willing to complete the NCCER Instructor Certification Training Program (ICTP) to obtain the appropriate certification from NCCER for Solar PV.
Required Experience:
Two years of professional experience in the Renewable energy industry including solar, wind, construction and installation, and/or energy auditing or related field.
Minimum of 4 years of documented solar experience at the journeyman level, including at least 1 year in a leadership/supervisory role
Knowledge of safety practices in professional settingsand OSHA requirements for safety
Knowledge of power and hand tools related to the craft or trade
Excellent presentation, written communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Experience:
Experience teaching/training adults (a plus)
Certification/licensure: NABCEP Solar PV Associate, PV Installation Professional or other NABCEP or industry-recognized certification.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Google Suite products
