Leadership Chair

Overview of role:

The VYP Committee Chair is responsible for leading all leadership meetings through constructive dialogue and work to focus the group’s talents and resources to meet VYP’s objectives. The VYP Committee Chair is an exemplary model of professionalism and leadership. The Committee Chair ensures that other committee members are engaged, actively contributing, and

in timely communication with one another. The Committee Chair identifies potential challenges and liaisons with the VYP Director to mitigate issues. Tasks:

The Leadership Chair must lead and be present for all monthly leadership meetings, attend events and promote the mission of the organization to young professionals. Attend TVCC Board meetings as assigned (1-2 board meetings a year) Treat information with confidentiality to protect goals, budget and intellectual property. If absent, designate an alternate leader. Assist with all VYP Special Events: Annual Co****le & Member Appreciation as needed

Assist in the promotion of events, volunteer opportunities, member recruitment and program development. Plan committee goals and objectives to work within the mission statement. Leadership Co-Chair

A co-chair’s responsibilities are primarily to support the VYP Leadership chair by sharing work and/or filling in as needed. The Committee Co-Chair should be prepared to step in for any other leadership chair position if/as needed. Maintain regular communication with the Leadership Chair. Attend all monthly leadership meetings, events and promote the mission of the organization to young professionals. Assist in all VYP Special Events: Annual Co****le & Member Appreciation

Assist in promotion of events, volunteer opportunities and programs. Plan and contribute to committee goals and objectives to work within the mission statement. Communication Chair

Overview of the Role

The VYP Communication chair is responsible for creating marketing material with TVCC provided templates while adhering to VYP branding and tone. The Communication chair is responsible for

Attend and participate in monthly Planning Committee meeting the 1st Tuesday of every month

Maintain communication with VYP Director. Assist in flyer design and promotional material. Implement messages to thank new member for attending and to notify members and non-members of an upcoming event or volunteer opportunity with VYP. Work with Community Outreach Committee to create new innovative benefits for membership; technical, social media, etc. Assist in creating email campaigns to source donations and sponsorships when needed

Assist in keeping the organization current and youthful in ways of promotion, website and representation. Community Outreach Chair

Overview of the Role

The Community Outreach Chair actively engages with the local community to promote the mission and purpose of VYP. The Community Outreach Chair identifies service projects that VYP can support and invest resources into, to help fulfill the civic objectives of VYP. The Community Outreach Chair plans and coordinates all aspects of community outreach projects from inception to finish. The Community Chair must be present for all monthly leadership meetings, attend events and promote the mission of the organization to young professionals. Attend TVCC Board meetings as assigned (1-2 board meetings a year). Treat information with confidentiality to protect goals, budget and intellectual property. Identifies service projects that fulfill the mission of VYP and serve a local non-profit organization or philanthropic cause. Plan and coordinate all aspects of facilitating a community outreach event in collaboration with the rest of VYP Leadership and membership. Work with VYP Leadership Chair and Director to ensure that marketing, budget, and project setup is within the working scope of VYP. Ensure that Community Outreach events are on the VYP Calendar, properly promoted, and planned for in advance. Assist in all VYP Special Events: Annual Co****le & Member Appreciation

In the absence of the Chair, the Co- chair will stand in to represent at outreach events, meetings, etc. A co-chair’s responsibilities are primarily to support the it’s corresponding Chair by sharing work and/or filling in as needed. Events Chair

Overview of the Role

The Event Chair must be present for all monthly leadership meetings, attend events and promote the mission of the organization to young professionals. Plan, schedule and coordinate all monthly VYP evening Mixers, Leaders Who Lunch & annual Special Events in tandem with the Events Co-Chair. Work with the VYP Chair and Director to coordinate all logistics for social and networking events

Working with the event co-chair to identify ways to enhance the social event with a fundraising component. Identify potential mixer locations, food, beverage, and prize sponsors in concert with VYP Director. Work with VYP Leadership to ensure events are properly marketed. Work with the VYP Director to communicate information about the event internally. Be the face of the social event- welcoming all attendees, distributing marketing materials, thanking the venue, maintaining a positive and upbeat atmosphere. Create an agenda for each networking event. Events Co-chair

In the absence of the Chair, the Co- chair will stand in to represent at events, meetings, etc. Share all aspects of the Events Chair’s tasks as mutually agreed upon. Provide updates to the Leadership Chair and Director regularly as to the status of events and planning. Be prepared to assume the work of the Events Chair in their absence. Education Chair

Overview of the Role

The Education Chair plans quarterly events designed to educate young professionals on topics relative to lifestyle, career development, leadership, and financial planning (among other topics of interest). The Education Chair identifies topics, speakers and venues for hosting these educational events. Educational events should help young professionals learn and grow in concert with the VYP mission. Tasks:

The Education Chair must be present for all monthly leadership meetings, attend events and promote the mission of the organization to young professionals. Maintain communication with VYP Director about upcoming event dates, presenters, promotion, etc. Schedule and confirm all quarterly Education Workshops for the year (minimum of four events total)

Coordinate with the rest of the committee to and plan out appropriate marketing. Assist in promotion of VYP events, member recruitment, volunteer opportunities and programs. Education Co-chair

In the absence of the Chair, the Co- chair will stand in to represent at events, meetings, etc. Share all aspects of the Education Chair’s tasks as mutually agreed upon.
