As I begin my journey as the new VFW Auxiliary President, I want to take a moment to express my sincere gratitude to everyone who has welcomed me with open arms.

Moving to a new town meant meeting new people, building new friendships, and finding a new purpose within the community. What I found at VFW Post 1714 was much more than an organization—I found a family dedicated to serving veterans, supporting one another, and making a difference.

It is truly an honor to serve as your Auxiliary President. I am humbled by the trust you have placed in me and excited for the opportunities ahead. Together, we will continue to support our veterans, strengthen our community, and carry forward the mission of the VFW Auxiliary.

Thank you to everyone who has encouraged, supported, and inspired me along the way. I look forward to working alongside each of you as we begin this new chapter together.

Here’s to new beginnings, new friendships, and continued service to those who have sacrificed so much for our country.

❤️🤍💙 God Bless our Veterans 💙🤍❤️

Please join us in welcoming Kim Rayas as the new President of the Auxiliary at VFW Post 1714.

Born and raised in Salina, Kansas, Kim spent most of her professional career in the medical field, most recently in Home Health and Hospice. Today, she serves as the Office Administrator at M.R. Builder.

Kim and her life partner, Dwight Winger of Dodge City, enjoy spending time with their family. She is the proud mother of two adult children, Chris and Casey, who both now call Dodge City home.

For several years, Kim has been dedicated to supporting veterans and veteran-related causes. One of her proudest accomplishments was spearheading fundraising efforts that raised more than $45,000 for the Kansas Honor Flight, helping Kansas veterans travel to Washington, D.C. to visit the memorials built in their honor.

Last year, Kim launched the Adopt a Veteran Program during the Christmas season, connecting community members with local veterans to ensure they were remembered and appreciated during the holidays. The program reflected her passion for giving back and honoring those who have served our nation.

When she’s not working or volunteering, Kim enjoys photography, sports, traveling, scrapbooking, card making, spending time with her great-nieces and nephew, and making memories with family and friends.

So why did Kim join the VFW Auxiliary?

“My grandfathers, father, and many other family members proudly served our country. Joining the Auxiliary is my way of showing my deepest gratitude and appreciation for their sacrifices and the sacrifices of all veterans. It allows me to give back to those who have given so much for our freedom.”

Kim looks forward to working cohesively with the members of VFW Post 1714 and the Auxiliary to continue supporting veterans, their families, and our community. Together, we can make a difference and ensure that those who served are never forgotten. 🇺🇸
