It's that time of year again, and you may know someone over 18 or soon-to-be flying from the nest. Now is a great time to make sure they have a designated decision maker if an accident happens, and they can't speak up for themselves.

Our hearts are with our neighbors to the south as Meade County and surrounding southwest Kansas communities continue battling dangerous wildfires.

The Dodge City Area Chamber of Commerce sends our support to the families, ranchers, businesses, first responders, emergency managers, law enforcement officers, firefighters, volunteers, and all those impacted by these fires.

We are especially grateful for the brave men and women working long hours in difficult conditions to protect lives, homes, land, livestock, and communities across southwest Kansas.

Please continue to keep Meade County and all affected areas in your thoughts, stay alert to official updates, and follow guidance from local emergency management and law enforcement.
