Tonight we will see who your next Miss Teen Rodeo Nebraska will be. Regardless of the outcome, all of these ladies would do an excellent job representing their state and the sport of rodeo. Our neighbor to the north sure has some outstanding rodeo queens!

Yesterday we watched horsemanship and speeches, and today we get to see the style show!

In the meantime a pit stop to Dino, the Golden Spike, and sponsor visits are filling my cup today!

The rodeo in Washington was a special one because it’s the “home” rodeo of my friend and 2024 Miss Teen Rodeo Kansas Emma Brungardt. This year through Maggie Hood’s book “Heart of a Cowgirl,” I have shared Emma’s story with kids across the state, and the patriotic memorial chaps by Lazy P Creations share Emma’s legacy with many rodeo crowds. Thanks to the Washington Saddle Club for an amazing weekend, Midwest Twist for my beautiful blue shirt, and Prairie Walker Photography for the patriotic action photo! It was fun working with Tyler Kijac and the TK Pro Rodeo crew and announcer Troy Goodridge!

The Gyp Hills Roundup Rodeo in Medicine Lodge offered lots of rodeo excitement and crowd entertainment. I was honored to get to carry the American flag from the back of a wagon pulled by the beautiful Broken Spoke Clydesdales. Helping with the kids toy scramble and mutton busting was also fun! Thanks to the Medicine Lodge Peace Treaty Rodeo Committee and Medicine River Rodeo for letting me help out!

The Miss Kansas and Miss Kansas Teen pageant is taking place in Pratt, and I attended night two of preliminary competition to watch talent, fitness, modeling, and an onstage question about community service initiatives. These are confident and talented young women, and I love how we can support each other in all types of pageantry! I met and talked to so many people, including Miss Kansas 2025 Emily Rugg and last year’s Miss Kansas’ Teen Averie Mountain.

Nationwide, about 100 children are killed each year in agricultural accidents. This is why teaching ag safety to the youth is so important. Today I was at the McPherson County Extension Office’s Farm Safety Day Camp checking in campers at the registration table and helping Sheriff Montagne talk to kids about how first responders are prepared to help in emergencies.
