Today we hosted Dobson Elementary School’s 4th grade student to talk to them a little about FFA, Agriculture at SCHS, as well as the agriculture industry. Thank you to two of our students for brining animals to show our younger kids today. Laura Robson brought her show calf, Maggie and Rylan Gentry brought her horse, Willow. 4th graders were able to design their own ear tags, got their own feed rations and learned about different animals we have at SCHS

🍀💚 Happy National 4-H Week! 💚🍀

Surry Central FFA is proud to celebrate our friends in 4-H and the incredible impact they make in our schools, communities, and agriculture industry!

While we may wear blue & gold and they proudly wear green, we share so many of the same goals — developing young leaders, serving our communities, building lifelong skills, and helping the next generation find their place in agriculture. 🌱🐄🚜

To all of our 4-H members, volunteers, leaders, families, and Cooperative Extension friends: thank you for everything you do to help young people learn, lead, grow, and serve.

Here’s to raising the next generation of agricultural leaders — together! 💚🤝💙💛

We still have a few mums and pansies left. These will only be sold during the school day. You will need to check in the front office first, and they will let us know so that someone can meet you at the greenhouse. $6 mums and $2 pansies! Help us clear out the greenhouse so we can start planning the spring sale!

It’s finally here! Our plant sale will be Thursday and Friday of this week. Come see us!

Today we volunteered at the color walk in Dobson. Our student volunteers helped with spreading color over the walkers (and each other). They had such a great fun time!

Take a look at the pictures. Notice a difference?

The first picture is the bus on the way to leadership conference, the second is after. FFA has a way of bringing kids closer together. They get out of their comfort zones, start talking, making friends and learning skills that last a lifetime! Join FFA!
