Due to health reasons, I am unable to host the walk this year. The other walks are posted (sadly there are no walks in Illinois)
I hope you all can join one of the nearby states events or even hold your own “walk anywhere” events with friends and family

Shirts will be ordered for anyone that registers by August 16th, selects a t-shirt size, and donates $40 on or before walk day. Additional shirts will be available on the day of the walk on a first come...first serve basis, for those registering after the August 16th deadline.

One more day!!
I am so incredibly excited and cannot wait until tomorrow. I am working on my purple walking shoes using our purple lock laces from last year (which we have again this year)
I’m finishing up the prizes for our 5K winners as well as the posters and welcome signs.
And I’m enjoying The First Wives Club playing in the background cause, why not 😁

The Conquer Chiari Walk Across America is an annual fundraising and awareness event comprised of a series of local walks held on the same day. In 2018, the event was held at 73 locations, involved more than 7,000 participants, and raised over $370,000. We are proud to say that, to date, we have funded over $3.8 million in Chiari research.
The 12th annual walk will be held on the 3rd & 4th weekend of September. It is our goal to have at least one walk in every state. The Dixon, IL walk will be held September 28th at the Dixon High School Track & Field
What is Chiari Malformation
Chiari Malformation is a serious neurological disorder where the bottom part of the brain, the cerebellum, descends out of the skull and crowds the spinal cord, putting pressure on both the brain and spine and causing many symptoms. It can strike children and adults and cause crippling headaches, neck pain, balance problems, trouble breathing, numbness and weakness in the limbs, and a host of other problems. To date there has been very little research on Chiari and fundamental questions regarding its underlying cause, diagnosis, and treatment remain unanswered. It is estimated that Chiari affects over 300,000 people in the US.
