The Soroptimist organization was founded on October 3, 1921 with a charter membership of 80 executive/professional/business women in Alameda County, California. The majority of the charter members were located in Oakland, CA. Soroptimist International of Dixon was chartered in 1961 and currently has 40 members. The club has contributed service and monetary donations over the many years of its exis

tence in addition to Soroptimist International, Soroptimist International of the Americas and Founder Region Soroptimist projects. The members of the club also participate in hands-on service within their community.
