💛 Tiffy is still looking for her forever home 💛

Tiffy is a young yellow Lab mix who is just over a year old—but she has already spent 10 months, 3 weeks, and 1 day of her life growing up in the shelter.

That means most of her puppyhood, learning, and early life has happened behind kennel doors instead of in a home.

Tiffy is the kind of dog who makes you feel instantly at ease. She loves attention and is happiest when she’s close to people. Cuddles, playing, kisses, toys, treats—she’s all in. She also does well with both dogs and cats and enjoys being part of whatever’s going on.

She is still young, still full of potential, and still waiting for the chance to finally experience life outside the shelter as someone’s companion.

Raven has been in our shelter for OVER A YEAR.
Over a year of being overlooked.
Over a year of watching every other dog leave… while she stays.

And the reality is hard…
Dogs that sit this long in a shelter begin to shut down, deteriorate, and lose hope.
Eventually, we are faced with heartbreaking decisions—and Raven does NOT deserve that.

She deserves a life. Not a kennel.

🐣🌷 World Stray Animals Day – April 4 🌷🐾

Today we recognize World Stray Animals Day, a day dedicated to raising awareness for the millions of animals around the world who are living without homes, safety, or proper care.

Here in our community, stray animals are more than just statistics — they are dogs and cats who were once someone’s pet, animals who were never given a chance, and innocent lives that deserve compassion.

This spring season reminds us that every animal deserves a fresh start.🌷💛

🌼 How you can help stray animals in our community:
• Spay and neuter your pets to prevent unwanted litters
• Adopt instead of shop
• Report stray or abandoned animals so they can receive help
• Support your local animal shelter and rescue efforts
• Share adoptable animals to help them find homes

🌷 April is for the Animals 🐾

April is Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Month and Heartworm Prevention Month — two important reminders to protect the animals who depend on us every day.

The sweet faces you see here are just a few of the dogs currently at Webster County Animal Care and Control. Each one deserves kindness, safety, and a loving home. Sadly, many animals still experience neglect, abandonment, and cruelty — but together we can change that.

Spring also means mosquitoes🦟, which means it’s time to make sure your pets are on heartworm prevention. Heartworm disease is serious and can be deadly, but it is completely preventable with a simple monthly medication.

This April we encourage everyone to:
🐾 Show compassion to animals
🐾 Speak up if you see cruelty or neglect
🐾 Keep your pets on heartworm prevention
🐾 Adopt, foster, or support your local shelter

Every act of kindness — big or small — helps create a better world for animals.

💛 Let’s make this April a month of compassion, prevention, and second chances.

🦴On the flip side of poison prevention… here are some safe treats for your pup!🦴

Did you know some human foods can be healthy snacks for dogs? 🐶
Things like carrots, blueberries, green beans, apples (no seeds), plain chicken, bananas, watermelon (no rind), plain rice, and xylitol-free peanut butter can all be safe in moderation.

✨ Quick tips:
• Serve plain & unseasoned
• Remove seeds, pits, bones, and rinds
• Cut into bite-sized pieces
• Always introduce new foods slowly

Every dog is different, so check with your vet if you’re unsure!

And don’t forget, Support your local animal shelter and the precious pups waiting for homes!❤️🐾
