The Long Island Children’s choir is an educationally based choral ensemble. Singers are provided instruction in healthy vocal technique, music literacy, music history, choral practice, and sight-reading while experiencing performance excellence, incorporating the philosophies and techniques of Zoltan Kodaly and Jacques Dalcroze. Participants will engage in an active and creative learning environme
nt, while forming lasting relationships with peers outside of their community as they cultivate a personal and lifelong appreciation of music. As the "choir for a cause," LICC seeks to expose students to performing opportunities that allow them to share their talents with those in need of musical good will! LICC also hosts at least one fund raiser annually to serve other worthy non-profits. Past grant recipients have included the United Cerebral Palsy Foundation and The Book Fairies.
