Save the Date for the Upcoming Lavendar Festival at Waterdrinker Family Farm

https://www.facebook.com/share/1CNhq5gfZD/?mibextid=wwXIfr

On June 6th and 7th in New York, the Lavender Festival at Waterdrinker Farm in Manorville takes place as “the prettiest festival on Long Island!” From 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., you can walk through Lavender Lane and see rows of raised lavender displays set up for photos, with bright purple blooms all around. The lavender garden area is one of the main highlights, with photo spots designed for easy pictures. Beyond the flowers, the farm is full of things to do. Over 50 local vendors set up booths, while live music plays and food trucks serve a wide mix of options. The Family Farm Adventure area is included, with mini golf, jumbo jump pads, a wooden play area, and an obstacle course. You can also visit barnyard animals like goats, pigs, chickens, peacocks, emus, and even a Sulcata tortoise. There’s also Tulip Town and a Tulip Tunnel Museum to explore...adding to the beauty that you'll find at this stunning festival in New York this summer!

Tell Local Leaders to Take the Pledge for Monarchs!

If you haven’t seen monarch butterflies in your neighborhood, it might be because both the Eastern and Western migratory monarch populations have declined in recent years. But you can help! Take action by asking your local leaders to sign the Mayors' Monarch Pledge.

Sharing for our fellow Second district FGCNYS members Sayville Garden Club

The Sayville Garden Club is delighted to host our annual fundraising luncheon on Monday, May 18th. This popular event features an experienced speaker and a skilled designer, a delightful luncheon at Land's End, and numerous stunning raffle baskets (often exceeding 100).

This year’s speaker is Karl Auwaerter, the Owner and Manager of the Bayport Flower Houses, who holds a BS in Floriculture and Ornamental Horticulture from Cornell. Karl will be creating patio pots, including fairy garden design, native/pollinator design, plus more. We look forward to an enjoyable presentation!

The Sayville Garden Club supports many efforts in the local community, and some of them are:

· Scholarships for Sayville and Bayport-Blue Point High School seniors;
· Planting/maintaining local public gardens, such as
-Sparrow Park
-Gillette House Gardens
-9/11 Garden on River Road
-Bodkin-Venegas Garden
-Edwards Homestead Herb Garden
· Education to promote native plantings and natural pollinator gardens;
· Keep Islip Clean;
· Sayville Library garden projects;
· Support of local projects and other volunteer organizations.

We would appreciate it if you would share the attached flyer with your friends and colleagues.

Thank you so much and we hope to see you there!
