Thanks to the outpouring of support once again we made it. We are pleased to announce that tomorrow and Sunday your local first responders will be out delivering toys to 211 local area children. We were once again blessed with the wonderful donations from all of you.

We would like to thank our citizens and our volunteers that have put in hundreds of hours making this all happen.

Today, the Toy Drive received a very generous donation from Steve Niles, owner of Gold Rush Water and Divide Septic. Mr. Niles shared his touching story with us of how this community rallied around his family in their critical time of need. He loves this community, is devoted to it, and absolutely felt it was so important to give back to those who gave so much to him. We all shared tears together, and cannot express enough how much we appreciate him, and every one of our amazing donors. This community is strong, and together we can do great things!

The support we have received this year has been phenomenal, this county never ceases to amaze. Like I wrote in an earlier post we will be over 200 kids this year that your first responders are trying to help and as of this moment we are still very short. We will leave our collection boxes up until Monday and could really use any help that you could give. The items we are specifically looking for are:

Legos (Star Wars/Marvel)
Art supplies for any age (drawing kits, crayons, coloring books)
Frozen dolls
Broncos T-shirt’s in boy sizes
LOL Dolls
Crafting kits
PJ Masks toys
Books for ages 1-12
Pokémon cards
Paw patrol

We have collection points set up at the following locations.

Divide Fire Protection District
Northeast Teller County Fire District (NETCO)
Ute Pass Regional Health Services District
Florissant Fire Protection District
Mountain Communities Volunteer Fire Department
Cripple Creek Fire Department
Lake George Fire Protection District
Walmart in Woodland Park
Peak Internet
Charis Bible College
Venture Foods in Divide

This past weekend we were overwhelmed with the outpouring of support for our 3rd annual toy drive. We have come so far and grown beyond any expectations.

The first year during fire prevention week, while giving a presentation a kindergarten student told us a story about how he had lost everything in a fire, his family was safe but they had no possessions. That day we decided that we would try to do something. The idea of the toy drive was born. That year with the support of the citizens of our communities we were able to present 19 children with an amazing Christmas.

The second year it grew to 127 children. Now this year we were projecting 150 children but it looks like we will actually surpass 200.

We hate to ask more of the community but we are in desperate need of the following toys

Legos (Star Wars/Marvel)
Art supplies for any age (drawing kits, crayons, coloring books)
Marvel action figures
Frozen dolls
Broncos T-shirt’s in boy sizes
LOL Dolls
Crafting kits
PJ Masks toys
Books for ages 1-12

We have collection points set up at the following locations.

Thanks to everyone who came out to see us today and made a donation to the toy drive!! Also a huge thanks to the responders who collected at the drive. Their sacrifice and dedication to the community is unmatched.
We will still be collecting donations for the next two weeks. Once we filter through today’s donations we will announce specific items needed to fulfill our goal. Thank you!!!
