Our 4th year class became the second group to get the OECP Rigger/Signalperson certification. Once again our instructor Mike Pohl hit a home run refresher and they all passed their exams! Martin Turek from OECP was here again to put on a training for examiners. Local 147 welcomed locals 77, 926, 406, 320, 465 and 369 to our site to train for OECP rig/sig, mobile crane and overhead crane. Our instructors James "Heavy" Holland and Brandon Pritchett are now OECP examiners as well. This was an exciting week and we are excited to be able to put another credential in our apprentices pocket and help our brother and sisters from other locals too. We are proud to support and be supported by the Operating Engineers Certification Program.

Local 147 3rd year apprentices became the 1st in the country to take the new OECP Rigger/Signal Person Certification written and practical exams. Thanks to our instructor Mike Pohl and his refresher course, everyone passed. These were not easy exams! Thank you to Mr. Tom Milianti and Mr. Martin Turek from the Operating Engineers Certification Program for coming out to support and train our staff to administer these exams. This is a monumental moment for our Local and our Program. Local 147 is proud to be supported by OECP! Batter up 4th years, YOUR NEXT!
