The name Camp Gan Israel was given by the Rebbe in honor of the Yisroel Baal Shem Tov, who was known to experience the Divine directly through nature. He taught that the natural world is a living, miraculous extension of God’s presence. Rather than viewing it as merely a backdrop, he saw fields, forests, and animals as vessels of God’s ongoing, perpetual creation.
The campers are undoubtedly going to have incredible experiences in Camp Gan Yisroel Poconos’ new Wilderness Program.
