October is winding down, but we’re not slowing down! Our Building Our Future fundraiser has reached $47,553 toward our new gymnasium! We are so grateful for the generosity of our CVCS families and community. Every contribution brings us one step closer to making this vision a reality, but we still have work to do!

We’re also celebrating our students who are jumping in to help! The first students to turn in a completed fundraising calendar earned a special Charger sweatshirt, and we still have a few up for grabs! We’ll be awarding more each week during lunch, so keep those calendars coming!

Let’s keep the momentum going, Chargers! Every family can make a difference as we build our future together.

Our Pre-K students had a special visitor today! CVCS parent Officer Dickerson stopped by to read The Biggest Dog in the Book before introducing us to his four-legged co-worker, K9 Sig! 🐕‍🦺

We love seeing our CVCS families share their time and talents with our students! Thank you, Officer Dickerson and Sig, for making today extra special!

Our 2nd graders brought their study of Ancient Egyptian culture to life with a trade and barter activity! Students explored how people in ancient times exchanged goods to get what they needed, discovering that commerce looked a little different before money became common. A fun, hands-on way to make history come alive!

Congratulations to our boys’ cross country team on an incredible inaugural season! Our Chargers wrapped up their season at the VACA State Meet in Waynesboro this past Saturday, with two runners setting new personal records. We are proud of the hard work, determination, and sportsmanship these boys have shown throughout the season. What a great start for CVCS Cross Country!

Our 8th Grade Civics students took learning beyond the classroom! Students visited the Buckingham County Administration Offices to meet with local officials and conduct their very own Board of Supervisors meeting. What a great opportunity to see local government in action and put their civics knowledge to work!

Please welcome CVCS’ newest elected Student Council Association members. Yesterday our students swore in and vowed to represent their classes and middle school student body responsibly and with integrity. We can’t wait to see them lead this year!

What would a new gymnasium mean to you?

For our students, it means so much more than a place to play basketball! It means opportunities to grow, memories to make, performances to share, and a space for our Charger community to come together.

We’re well on our way to making this dream a reality, but we’re not at the finish line just yet!

Every gift makes a difference. Every family matters. Let’s finish strong and build something special for generations of Chargers to come! 🏗️
