Summit County Head Start 0-5 The Summit County Early/Head Start program is a comprehensive support and education to families and children zero to five years in age.

The Summit Early Head Start & Head Start Program serves 59 local, low-income children with support in the areas of education, health and family self-sufficiency. Preschool age children (3-5 years old) are enrolled in the Summit School District preschool programs and at Summit County Preschool. Children prenatal up to age 3 are served at Summit County Preschool and through home visitation programs.

Head Start children are located in School District classrooms in Dillon Valley Elementary, Silverthorne Elementary and Upper Blue Elementary. Summit County Preschool is our community center. Family, friend, and neighbor (FFN) care refers to child care provided by unlicensed relatives, friends, or others in the community. FFN is often referred to as informal child care.
