A medical call quickly became a two-patient incident requiring a second ambulance. Thanks to our dedicated off-duty and call members who responded from home to staff a second truck, we were able to keep the ambulance in town and avoid the need for mutual aid.
The Dighton Fire Department and members of Local 4332 are always ready to answer the call, and we are grateful for the professionalism shown by everyone involved.
While we’re thankful for the members who stepped up tonight, this serves as a reminder that on-duty staffing allows resources to respond immediately, rather than waiting for personnel to arrive from home.
Thank you to our members for always being there when our community needs you most. 🚑🚨💙

This is a problem we know all to well here in
Crews are living in a building that would be condemned if it were privately owned. There is no exaggeration here, the conditions in the station are more dangerous to firefighters health than the majority of calls we run.

Water stains spread across ceilings. Mold creeping through walls. Sewage leaks. Toxic fumes drifting into living quarters.

The members of Local 4332 are excited to welcome our newest member, FF/EMT Joshua Desmond. FF Desmond has been a dedicated member of the department for years and we’re proud to have him in this new capacity. We wish him a long and healthy career!

Chief Christopher Maguy and the Dighton Fire Department are proud to announce the appointment of Joshua Desmond to the Fulltime Ranks as a Firefighter/EMT. Joshua’s appointment takes effect today, April 19th, when he works his first fulltime shift with the Dighton Fire Department. Joshua has served this department as a Call Firefighter/EMT since July 1, 2021. Joshua started his time with this department in our Junior Firefighter program ten years ago, he is still active in the program as an Assistant Advisor. Joshua is Firefighter I/II ProBoard certified from the Massachusetts Firefighting Academy and is currently working to finish a paramedic program.

Please join us in Congratulating Joshua on his appointment. We wish him a long, happy, and healthy career.
