Hello, everyone!
As many of you know, we have been closely monitoring the possibility of severe weather impacting our festival day. Dickson Pride has always been a rain or shine event, and we have proudly celebrated together through rainy weather in the past. However, the forecast for this weekend is calling for potentially severe conditions, including high winds reaching up to 40 mph, heavy rainfall, and other hazardous weather.
After much discussion and careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to postpone this year’s 4th Annual Dickson Pride Festival until early spring.
This decision was not made lightly. Pride is about so much more than celebrating our identities, displaying rainbows, and waving our flags. Pride is about community, love, inclusion, and, above all, safety. The safety of our attendees, vendors, entertainers, volunteers, sponsors, and everyone who helps make this event possible must always come first.
With the potential for severe weather, we cannot risk putting people in harm’s way or jeopardizing their health, their lives, or the merchandise, equipment, and belongings they have worked so hard to bring to our festival. We believe that protecting our community is the right thing to do, even when it means making a difficult decision.
We will share updates as soon as we have a new date and time confirmed. We also plan to reach out to our committed vendors and sponsors to gather input and work together to find a date that allows as many of you as possible to join us in celebrating.
To every vendor, sponsor, entertainer, volunteer, supporter, and community member who has invested time, energy, resources, and love into this year’s Pride: THANK YOU. Your support means more to us than words can express, and we are committed to making our fourth annual celebration happen in a way that is safe and welcoming for everyone.
We know this news may be disappointing, and we share that disappointment. But Pride isn't cancelled , we're simply saving our celebration for a safer day! 🌈❤️🏳️⚧️
